I am looking at going from $5 a year to $27 a month for my community. Here is the rewrite of the about page that I am considering posting but I have not done so yet because I want to get your feedback first. TYIA ---------- STOP POSTPONING YOUR LIFE! How long have you been telling yourself, "Someday"? There are 7 days in a week. Someday is not one of them. Welcome to Self-Sustaining Life Lab, where we reject the idea that you have to put your life on hold to make a living. Here, we turn "someday" into "starting today." You'll get practical tools, real-world ideas, and support to start living the life you want while finding ways to make it pay for itself. No more waiting for retirement, financial freedom, or the stars to align. Stop dreaming about the life you want. Start living it. You don't need another five-year plan. You need a simple action plan. Join today. Get started. If you don't get your money's worth in the first 30 days, I'll refund your money.

@Aimee Jardon Thank you. I so love you for this dissertation. Finally someone who understands that people pay what they want to pay, and they pay what THEY PERCEIVE as the value they receive. In my off line work, I give away balloons, and I found that there are those who would pay $5 for four balloon creations, and there are those who will pay $20 for one. They are paying for the perceived value. That is why my About Page DOES NOT follow what is considered to be standard About Page Formula. Here is the NEW About Page, if you would be kind enough to Roast it.

@Aimee Jardon Skool does not do refunds, I don't believe they do, but I am being both confident and cocky in making that promise. I am betting that someone willing to pay $27 to find out if it's worth paying $27 is someone who is willing to do the work because they want the results. I am also betting that they will find so much value in the first few days that they will no issue in continuing to pay the $27. And based on what you're saying, and I believe you, it already filters out those who consider $19 as an impluse buy. Only people who are looking to invest in themselves will join, and they will use what I have to offer becasue it is what they are looking for and staying becomes a no-brainer. If on a rare occasion, someone requests a refund, it can be handled off Skool.

Heather has been working hard on our new community... I think it's pretty damn good, but as we know there is always room for improvement! I look forward to hearing your thoughts. For context, Bravenly is a company that sells health and wellness supliments that solve a huge array of problems such as low energy, aches, pains, puffiness, etc, but there is also a brilliant income opportunity attached for people who want to get a supplimentary income or build a very succesful business with it. Our community makes it even simpler and easier to build a team as well as showcasing the products to ones prospective leads.

@Adam McCollough I agree with what @Paulo Costa, The Roaster @Eliot Payne and @Dave Hughes have said. It lacks specificity. The page is visually appealing but that's the extent of it. I see a list of features, not benefits, which would be hard to establish if the problem is not identified to begin with. My initial read was that this looks like another MLM "Opportunity."

Okay, so this is my new community, and it is a paid community. Roast my about page https://www.skool.com/ssll/about

@Aimee Jardon An excellent analogy
Don’t do something for free - give a discount instead.
[Roast my Lesson] We all have our various Discovery or Clarity calls that we offer for free. This is pretty standard, but after that first call, start charging for your time. I think it’s best to charge your full fee, whatever that is. If you feel that you want to give your potential client a break or you need to reduce the price for whatever reason, (which isn’t a good idea) give a discount instead. Why does this matter? If you give everything away for free, all of the time, you’ll throw away your value. If you give them a discount, you’re still holding on to your value, but you have to tell them it’s a discount so they know what your normal fees are. The discount can be whatever you want it to be. You can also call it whatever you want it to be. Beta tester discount Pilot program discount Black Friday discount 10th caller discount It doesn’t have to follow a specific rule, because guess what? You are creating the rules, it’s your business. Tell them the full price. Tell them the discount. They now realize that there’s a value to it and not just a freebie to ignore. I recently signed a client this way and it’s really been working out for us. Let me know your thoughts about it.

@Steve Atencio I don't CHARGE for what I do, but I do EXPECT TO BE PAID for what I do. And I always DO WHAT I WANT TO DO. BTW, you can't work your way up to selling a Bentley. Even Bentley doesn't "sell" Bentley. People who want a Bentley buy them anyway.
