New to the ROAST
Heyo, I'm working on my about page, and the cover image to start using growth boost. I think the obvious one is to niche down 1-2 more levels on my avatar. Or maybe just call them out more clearly. (25-40, US, Desperately wants to start a biz, no clear direction or path, $1000 to spend from a professional job they are successful in, consumes mozi and other education like MAD but doesn't act) Lemme know! I'm gonna snoop around the group and come back for yall. https://www.skool.com/halcyon-land-5118/about

Yep, exactly what @Dave Hughes said. The outcome is far more important than the detailed package. You literally have seconds of people scanning your page with the mindset of " what's in it for me", But they don't necessarily know that that list of things actually has a immense amount of value. You just need to tell them exactly the outcome they will have once those things have been implemented. Ie, a successful business, more money, more time etc Where you have used examples of Christian and the other guy, this needs to be backed up with proof. Ideally video reviews or some kind of screenshot of evidence so that people know immediately that they will get the results they seek. Also the banner whilst it's all very nice. It does have a few too many words But having come away from that page I can't remember anything on it. Ideally it needs one strong message. Hope that helps... Glad you took my advice and posted it here @James Simmons , and I look forward to seeing the fully revised version and hope it it starts to convert better. Also be mindful of the 80/20 rule and don't spend too much effort on the detail... We just need a strategy now to get the party started!
Roast my new Wingman Operator Academy video ✈️
I’ve just had two short Wingman Operator Academy videos made to use on the super important Skool about page and I’d love your honest feedback before we lock one in. These are meant to help us: - Attract the right Skool owners and operators - Explain the benefits fast (more money, better clients, more time back) - Make Wingman + WOA feel fun, simple, and high‑energy How to vote (takes 30 seconds): 1. Watch both clips. 2. Comment “1” or “2” below in the poll 3. (Optional but super helpful) Add one line: “I voted X like Y because, I don't like Z because…” I’ll share the results and what we learned from your feedback and we’ll use the winner as the “face” of WOA going forward. Thanks for being my test crew on this you’re helping shape how the whole Wingman ecosystem sees us.

Skool vs Competitors
[ROAST MY LESSON] This is going to be a straight to the point comparisson between Skool and 2 of it's big competitors that I worked with: Circle and Mighty Networks Is Skool the best of the 3? Short answer: Yes! For the majorit of cases. Long answer bellow: --> Circle: PROS: - Segregation: You can have different spaces for a lot of things. Different chat spaces, different spaces for sharing media, share photos. That allows you to have a lot of different things going on in the community in a organized way, and you can accomodate several niches. - Sharing Media is easy and it looks good: You can share media in a lot of different ways. Members can embed code, so they can for example post a spotify reproduction list that you can play without leaving the page. You can also have photo albums that look really good. - Stunning landing pages: In Circle you can create awesome landing pages, very easily and that look like professional websites. WIth these landing pages you can use your own custom domain. You can also have metrics like traffic and convertion rate. - Integrated CRM features, so you can have your own sales funnel and also manage mailmarketing - Support is great. You can have an answer from a real agent in 15 minutes. - Custom domain, without Circle in the name CONS: - Complicated and expensive pricing model: The pricing model is a mess. Upgrades cost too much. LIke going from 89 dollars to 199 to access automations. And 419 to have AI agents. That's pretty salty, specially for solo entepreneurs. - Annoying limitations: Circle has limitations for number of moderators and admins even on the highest plans. Also unlike Mighty Networks, you have a limit to the number of spaces you can create. And the livestreams are also pretty limited in how many hours you can host per month. Ideal for: Businesses that want to sell courses, have multiple niches in the same place, but not too much because of the limitations and want to allow people to share media in a lot of different ways.

I think the fact that most people just took your lesson at post value and replied and engaged accordingly. Speaks volumes for the fact that your lesson is pretty much perfect. I found it very difficult to fault, apart from one typo of " majority" I really liked how you have the short version at the top for busy people and then listed the pros and cons for each platform below for people who wanted to know the differences between each one. I wish I could offer some more constructive feedback, but that's all I've got! Perfect in my opinion. 😁

Also, I would recommend giving people 30 days entirely free. Just trial it. Add to your about page just after the CTA, a PS, something like this: - For limited time I'm giving people the chance to come on in And try us FREE For 30 days. I know you're going to love it, but no worries if you don't. This alleviates people's concerns that it might not be for them and gives you a chance to prove and let your personality shine through in your group. You basically then have 30 days to win them over, which I know you will do because you're lovely! 😍

Good luck @Dar Brown , Let me know how you get on. Remember we have a competition going on in our community to win a one-to-one with me and If I remember rightly you were pretty close to the top of the leaderboard already, so go and win it and we can chat about more ideas in depth!
What activities are you giving to people in your community?
A common roast I give here is a very frequent mistake for people and that I also made when I joined skool. They focus too much on what they are providing inside and not enough on what the members will be doing. If you're focusing on what you're providing, if you're centering your skool on you and your content, you're not building a community. You're just using skool as a funnel to sell your infoproducts and services. And that's not wrong, it's just underusing the potential of this platform. So how are you giving incentives for people to engage inside your space? Here are some ways you can do it: - Competitions, challenges, gamification - Support - Shoutouts - Exposure opportunities - Accountability - Regular live events (where people do more than just listen to you) - Posts for people to have fun and know eachother - Feedback (the whole premisse of this community) I always take those points into consideration when I'm sharing a community idea. Those are some of the things that makes the community feel less like a funnel where people can just consume and ditch and more like an exciting place where people can keep coming back to.

You've nailed it @Paulo Costa, The Roaster It's amazing how many people forget the main keyword "COMMUNITY" and think it's the them show.
