I am Dr. Priscila Stagliorio, NRT Practitioner at Mind and Body Solutions. Here is my story: Since 2003, when I started medical school in Brazil, I wanted to heal people. That was my dream. In 2010, early in my career, I became pregnant for the first time. An ultrasound showed that I had low amniotic fluid. But it was not investigated, there was no proper follow-up, and no plan was made. At 23 weeks of pregnancy, I lost my baby boy. He had already passed away, and I had to go through labor and deliver him. After that, I discovered that I had an autoimmune condition called antiphospholipid syndrome, which can affect blood clotting and pregnancy. I found a specialist who really listened to me. He investigated my case, understood what was happening, and followed me closely. After that, I was able to have my two daughters, Lara and Melissa. That experience changed the way I saw medicine. While that specialist helped me, conventional medicine's approach had failed me overall. It only gave me one answer: manage the condition. But I started asking myself: What if I could understand what my body needed to truly rebalance? What could I do to prevent other problems from happening in the future? I did not want to only treat disease. I wanted to help people prevent it and improve their quality of life. During the years I worked in conventional medicine, I saw many of the same complaints come back again and again. I knew how to handle emergencies. I knew how to treat disease. But many times, I could not understand what was happening between one visit and the next. I started paying more attention to something that seemed simple, but had a huge impact: people's food choices. What they ate when they were tired, busy, or alone. How they ate when they were trying to manage everything in their lives. After fifteen years of practicing medicine in Brazil, I came to the United States with my husband and my daughters, looking for a different path. I felt conventional medicine could not give me what I needed: a way to help people take care of their health before disease started.
