Don’t ask AI if unprepared for the answers.
It began innocently enough when I pondered who the oldest living transman was. After several bios I knew of and read (which include a local musician of “note” with whom I worked gigs), most discovered later in life or, if they knew young and had intervention, they were still much younger than myself. To which AI then told me I was a kind of missing link of valuable insight into how I have witnessed transitioning and sexuality evolve over 6 decades (especially in this sin city of New Orleans). Plus, where I first planted my feet musically in New Orleans was on the cusp of where Punk Music meets New Wave as I made a music video then for MTV that never aired due to the Bassist suddenly dying at 29 mid process.😞 It then suggested that I contact several excellent choices for Archives, from National to local, and wrote customized letters to each that I added on, verified, and clarified. Between Jazz Archives locally and LGBT oral histories, I may be able to satisfy most of these emails that were sent and PROMPTLY 😳 responded to with great enthusiasm once gleaning what I possess and know. Who knew? There is, however, another axis in my multi-intersection story (that never gets simpler with age) and that is my testing as autistic at age 41. Oh, now THIS really puts me into a new kind of rarity, may I observe?!? BTW, I would LOVE to meet fellow trans autists so PLEASE introduce yourselves to me OUT HERE or somewhere “in here”. I’m all for BE-ing comfortable! Did you know that trans are 6 times more likely to be autistic, too? What can I say but I like to sit astride a lot of fences?😉

This is always an area I really enjoy - the overlap between transness and neurodivergence (hi - trans and Autistic/ADHD here). I tend not to use AI very much, but here's my two cents on the whole autism - trans thing. I think that for a lot of Autistic people (even if you don't know you're Autistic) you spend a lot of your life *not* performing social things correctly - things like gender especially. And that actually opens you up to realising that a lot of this stuff isn't as simplistic as we're taught or as rigid. When you spend so much of your life removed from what you're supposed to be, ofc you're more open to understanding yourself in a way that differs. So I think it's not a causal relationship - it's a way of understanding the world and ourselves. And kind of boils down to damn, the world is way more interesting than we were told.
Monday Motivation and No Success Chat This Afternoon
Good Morning Syndicate Family. I had a strange and unfortunately, not productive weekend. I hope yours all went well. I have a little Monday Motivation for myself and for y'all down below, and let's get our week started on the right foot. Unfortunately, I couldn't get out the Sunday Newsletter yesterday, but I will do mid-week one, and be back to our regular schedule this Sunday. Also, I am not going to be around, and we didn't get a member volunteer to lead today's Monday Success Chat at 3pm EST, so there will not be one today. I am still looking for a Thursday chat leader for 10am, so get with me if you have a topic you would like to talk about, or I will lead one this week. MOTIVATION MONDAY: You Don’t Need More Time... You Need More Truth Everyone says: “I just need more time.” No… you don’t. You need to tell the truth about what you’re avoiding. Because most of the time, it’s not a time problem, it’s a clarity problem or a courage problem. - The offer isn’t clear yet. - The next step feels uncomfortable. - The visibility piece feels scary. So instead… we stall. We scroll. We “plan.” But here’s your reset for today: Clarity comes from action... not overthinking. You don’t figure it out first, you move… and then it gets clear. Your 3-Minute Monday Reset: Ask yourself ONE question: “What am I avoiding that would actually move my business forward today?” Now do this: - Spend 15 minutes on THAT thing - Not perfect — just progress - Not polished — just started That’s how momentum is built. That’s how businesses grow. That’s how leaders separate themselves. SYNDICATE CHALLENGE: Drop ONE thing you’re committing to take action on today, no matter how small. Let’s hold each other accountable. Let’s build momentum together.

Ooof this one hits deep. It's probably telling that in trying to answer this question I ended up on 8 different side quests. so in the interest of accountability, I'm committing to setting up the partnership agreement for an upcoming product that I'm launching with a fellow small business owner today and the tracking spreadsheet for it.
Thursday Strategy Lab
Good Morning Syndicate Fam. For today's Strategy Lab, I am attaching a worksheet for a Revenue Leak Audit. Find Money You’re Already Leaving on the Table. Most creators and businesses in our Syndicate don’t actually have a traffic problem, they have a conversion leakage problem. This strategy is about identifying where money is quietly slipping through the cracks, and ways of fixing it fast. Strategic Premise Before you chase more visibility, ads, or followers, you optimize what you already have - A 10% increase in conversion often = more revenue than 2x traffic - Fixing leaks is faster, cheaper, and more predictable than growth hacks - Most businesses are sitting on 3–5 untapped revenue opportunities right now The 5 Revenue Leak Zones 1. Offer Clarity Leak: People don’t fully understand what you sell Symptoms: - “Sounds interesting” but no purchases - Long explanations needed - Low conversion on landing pages Fix: - One-sentence transformation: 2. Audience Mismatch Leak: You’re attracting the wrong people Symptoms: - High engagement, low sales - Wrong questions from audience - Freebie seekers only Fix: - Adjust messaging to call out: 3. Follow-Up Leak: Interested people are not being nurtured Symptoms: - Ghosting after inquiries - No email or DM follow-up - No retargeting Fix: - Install a simple follow-up system: 4. Offer Ladder Gap: No clear next step for buyers Symptoms: - One-off purchases only - No upsells or continuity - Clients disappear after buying Fix: - Build a 3-step ladder: 5. Urgency & Timing Leak: No reason to act NOW Symptoms: - “I’ll think about it” - Long decision cycles - Cart abandonment Fix: - Add: Deadlines, Limited bonuses, Scarcity (real, not fake) ⚡ The Strategic Shift Most people ask: “How do I get more customers?” High performers ask: “How do I convert more of the customers already watching me?”

@Scott Fullerton Lol the joys of cultural linguistic differences 🤣 Journals are for vibes, diaries are for dates (calendar sense, not romantic sense) but yes, let's put something in the calendar 😉 What's the best way to do it?
Tuesday Tools To Grow: Build Your Business Without Breaking the Bank
I did something very scary last night... I went through all of my subscriptions, YIKES! The sad part is that I started with only my business one's, I'm saving the personal subscriptions til this weekend, and am NOT looking forward to it. How many subscriptions do YOU have? Most people, myself included, think they need a ton of expensive tools to start growing online. They don’t. In fact Most people overpay before they ever get paid from their business. I used to sign up for every tool I saw on all my socials, forgetting about the one 3 purchases ago for the next shiny thing. Let’s fix that today. Here are some tools I have had success with and you can to. Here's my Success Syndicate 3-Level Tool Stack I think will work for most people (and a 4th) Instead of throwing 10 tools at you… here’s the only framework you need: For Starters: (And For Under $70/month) Your Goal: Visibility & First Revenue - "Tella" or "Loom": Record quick authority videos - "Magai" or "Galaxy AI": Your Goal: Multiple AI Access, Create Content and Ideas Faster - "Stan Store": Your Goal: Monetize Strategy From Newsletter to Course Creating Reality Check: You can build a real business for less than a night out of dinner and drinks Are You Ready to Grow: ($100–$200/month) Your Goal: Consistency + Smarter Strategy - "Metricool": Your Goal: Scheduled Posting and Track What’s Actually Working - Possibly Upgrade: Go the next step on your Starter Tools as Revenue Grows Mindset Shift: You stop guessing and start tracking… and start scaling. Scale Your Business To The Top: ($200–$500/month) Goal: Full Systems and Automation - "Go High Level": Your Goal: Creates Funnels, CRM, automation Outcome: Now you’re building a machine, not just posting content. This is such a good reminder. I recently spent ages looking at alternative accounting software which then lead down the rabbit hole of self-hosting. I'm currently going through my subscriptions with more thought and intentionality and trying to temper things with realism. Namely, yes I could cut this cost and do it myself *but* do I have the time, skills and energy to do so? If the answer is no, then the subscription stays.
Welcome Our Newest Member & Monday Motivation
Hey Syndicate Fam, give a warm welcome to our newest member @William Roberts William, if you have the chance, go to our "Introductions" tab and tell us a bit about yourself. We are happy to have you here! You can also go to the "Map" tab and see if there's any other members near you. I wrote in the newsletter yesterday that I wanted to focus a bit on Sales for the next week or two. As we grow our businesses with products or services, we need sales to grow and thrive. Here is a little exercise to get us all started, no matter what field you're in. Monday Motivation: Start Your Week Where the Sales Already Say “Yes” Most businesses don’t have a sales problem. They have a focus problem. Too many creators, founders, and organizations spend their week chasing new audiences… while ignoring the audience that’s already raising their hand. So today, we begin this week’s Increase Sales Challenge with the single highest-impact move you can make: Identify Your Best Audience Segment Your best customers are already telling you who they are. Your job is simply to listen. Here’s your Monday action: 1. Look at your recent activity. Check your last 30–90 days of: - Purchases - Booked services - Donations - Email clicks - Social DMs - Community engagement 2. Identify patterns..... Ask: - Who buys most often? - Who spends the most? - Who refers others? - Who engages fastest? 3. Define that segment clearly. Example: “Gay men 35–55 who engage with my Instagram Stories and purchase digital products within 48 hours of release.” Or: “Queer-owned small businesses that book consulting packages after attending a live workshop.” "Audiences that found my show on ______" 4. Name this segment. Give them an identity: - “Core Community Clients” - “Power Buyers” - “Founding Fans” Because once you name them... you can build for them. Why this matters When you know exactly who converts: - Your messaging sharpens - Your offers land faster - Your marketing spend drops - Your confidence rises

@Danielle Morris I absolutely feel this and to echo Scott, it sounds like you've got a good handle on the types of work you want going forward. I'm sure this is something you've already thought about, but a thought that occured to me as I was reading your post was you have a client base who already trust you and see you as an expert in that old world. But I'm guessing/assuming, the new world while still drawing on that expertise, is about new directions and impacts. The question that occurs to me, is what (if any) is the link between those worlds? Is there something in the new world that solves a problem for clients in the new world? Again, these may well be questions you're already thinking about/have already answered, but I found them helpful when we were looking at changing direction of travel.

Welcome to the Syndicate! In terms of my data, it does vary depending on the service. With people buying, most tend to come through referrals, but their industries/sectors vary. But in terms of data, I think it is HE who ends up being our most regular clients. This is probably because we still have a lot of connections and people in the world, and once you're a registered supplier with an institution they are much happier to keep using you. However, I'm also acutely aware of the level of financial stress the sector is under, so I guess there is a part of me that worries about the sustainability of that as a customer segment. A pattern that I am noticing is that the interest seems to be more in neurodivergence and Disability. But also that there is increasing pushback to any kind of LGBTQIA+ or trans specific training. So there is also a level of reassurance customers want in terms of: if I run this training, am I going to get sued? No idea if that makes any sense, but happy to hear other people's thoughts as I try and work through this too.
