1 month with no social media
Just checking if anyone is thinking along the same lines. It’s been a month since I quit social media. I’m following Cal Newport’s advice and I’m certainly reaping benefits. I am more focused, more productive and definitely have used my time better than scrolling. On the negative side, I’m struggling with the meaning of my days. I am and have been always heavily focused on the purpose of our lives and I’ve always had a strong spiritual connection with everything I do. Social media provided me with an outlet to empty myself daily. Without it, I struggle with the question of “how am I helping the world become a better place?”. Granted, I can do it in a small scale, but nothing compares to the wide reach of social media. I feel more like an imposter not using social media than using it. But when I look back, the feedback and fruitfulness of my social media use was close to inexistent. Finally, in this digital world, I’m struggling to find my place. Even the thought of my Skool community not really functioning unless I’m actively recording videos and broadcasting things is a bit daunting. Just thought this could be an interesting point of reflection over the holidays. Anyone wanna add anything?

Here is something helful from an old timer
I'm not sure how to introduce who I am and what I do without coming across intrusive. I've heard people say that we should be free to communicate what we do and at the same time, respect the boundaries of each community. If this is crossing anyline, I'm happy to have my post deleted, no dramas. If not, and if this is helpful, I would love to share a little bit of what I do. It takes 2 minutes, literally. And if you like it, maybe check out the Skool of Life. At the moment, it's FREE. Happy to answer questions or adjust any communication here to make sure I'm being respectful and not breaking any rules. Blessings. https://youtu.be/fyhKxgcoZek

@Traci Swain that’s good to know. Not many people do. Congratulations on that. I would love to hear more of your story.

@Marcus Zacco I love those transitions with audio first aye. Very rarely I find anyone who gets it! Thanks brother. I appreciate it
I started an open source Skool community
Open source Skool community? What is that? It’s simple: I provided the framework, you plug in your knowledge and we make the community the best shared learning experience online ever! What do you think? I’ve got challenges and content about purpose, self development, health and wellness, finances, faith and more! And there will be much more coming. I’d love for you to join! Right now there is a ridiculous incentive to join: $19/month or just $49 for the whole year! That’s right! It’s 80% OFF! But just for the pioneers! You will help take the community of the ground. So if you’re keen, check it out using the link below. 🔗🔥 https://www.skool.com/skool-of-life-3304/about?ref=f3e56e65b817435ea4dc594f037ba1b3

Calling in the experts
My last attempt to figure out why my YouTube videos don’t grow, I’ve started a new channel from zero. No subscribers. I’m not even promoting or sharing on my socials. Purely testing how the algorithm works pushes the content. This was the first video. 11 days ago. Had a run for nearly 600 impressions. 3% CTR and 18% retention. I went for the raw unedited style and am publishing a new one every three days. Straight to the point, just adding value, CTA at the start (subtle), wishing the first 25% of the video and at the end. My question: why does YouTube test it so little? It stopped at 600 impressions and it won’t move. Not sure if changing thumbs or titles would make much of a difference and it could deceive the viewer for a click bait. These 4 Questions Will Transform How You See Your Current Work https://youtu.be/W8swef1Ze6c Thoughts? The video is attached as well as an impression graph.
