1 month with no social media
Just checking if anyone is thinking along the same lines.
It’s been a month since I quit social media. I’m following Cal Newport’s advice and I’m certainly reaping benefits. I am more focused, more productive and definitely have used my time better than scrolling.
On the negative side, I’m struggling with the meaning of my days. I am and have been always heavily focused on the purpose of our lives and I’ve always had a strong spiritual connection with everything I do. Social media provided me with an outlet to empty myself daily. Without it, I struggle with the question of “how am I helping the world become a better place?”. Granted, I can do it in a small scale, but nothing compares to the wide reach of social media. I feel more like an imposter not using social media than using it.
But when I look back, the feedback and fruitfulness of my social media use was close to inexistent.
Finally, in this digital world, I’m struggling to find my place. Even the thought of my Skool community not really functioning unless I’m actively recording videos and broadcasting things is a bit daunting.
Just thought this could be an interesting point of reflection over the holidays. Anyone wanna add anything?
