Hi. New here and to Plasticity. I am on an M3 MacBook Pro. No matter what, I cannot get my views to work with number key. No dedicated number pad, but cmd and number or any other combo does not work. Any ideas? I will need to set shortcuts. Also, all programs I used have quad viewport option. This is not option?

You'll need to assign your own shortcuts. Press 'F' for the search function, then type 'viewport' or 'front' or 'right' etc to see the respective views. Then click on the 3 dots to get the 'assign shortcut' option. You'll be prompted to create the shortcut you want eg 'shift+1' Alternatively you could setup the views in your favourites within the search function but I think keyboard shortcuts work best when you don't have separate numpad. There is no quad view to my knowledge but I hope the dev adds one in the future.
Machinegun Concept
I modelled this gun over the last 4 days or so. It's based on a piece of concept art by Eldar Safin (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/lxrOvJ). Mostly solid modelling but I was able to get into a nice workflow by just breaking it all down into separate components. Very enjoyable and a great workout for my plasticity skills.

@William Bourque Looks really good so far! I think the 2nd video you linked is more relevant for you and it’s the one I was thinking of when I decided to do my project. He tends to use solid blocks in the beginning rather than beveled curves. Those first couple of minutes were really helpful, then he goes way too fast and it difficult to follow the process. For me I made basic placeholders like you have but duplicate them before attempting any bevels or significant changes. So if I messed up I’d still have my placeholder. I also tried to finish one piece before moving on to the next piece which kept me focused and stopped me from ‘noodling’ around the entire model without feeling like I was moving forward. Hope that helps!

Very cool
how do i do this radial array?
im trying to add an even kerning to this slightly rotated object, but the axis for the radial array is taking the standard x,y plane as the axis. how do i orient the piped objects so that it aligns with the main object?

I think if you select the face of the object and then click the align plane from selection button that should do it.

What Drives Your 3D Art?🎨
I wanted to share a recent 3D piece I created for live music events—specifically festivals and concerts. It’s been such a fun way to blend my love for visuals and music, and I’m always curious about how others are using their 3D skills. What are you all learning or creating for? There are so many amazing reasons to dive into this field—whether it’s for pure passion, professional work, 3D printing, or something entirely unique. I’d love to hear what inspires you!

Hi @Rex Roberts! Very cool work especially in the context of live music events. For me it’s about using 3D to bring hard surface concept art to life. If it’s a spaceship, an aircraft, an afv or a mech I want to try and make something to satisfy my inner 10 year old. Plasticity is my current favourite now I’ve got used to the lack of vertices and I’m starting to get my head around how to get the most out of it. The next step is to take my finished pieces into Blender for some procedural textures and some decals. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
