Mech Leg
@Nikita Kapustin Thank you for the mech leg tutorial on YouTube! I know you were saying you can't see why people are finding it difficult but that short video definitely was a big unlock for me, so thank you.

Mecha - WIP
Blocking out a new mech from imagination. Quite basic but good fun to do. Trying to make the limbs more 'relaxed' by posing them at a more human angle and figuring out if they can move without clashing. Lots to do but a solid start.

@Erich Linder Blender Bros are good and Ryuu has a great deal of design knowledge and appreciation, but in the end I just don't like his designs. However his cockpit interior for the original plasticity jet fighter course was extremely good!

Here is my latest practice attempt. Just cruising on Pinterest looking for interesting shapes that look asthetically pleasing but also pose reasonable challenges. There were a number of profile edges that were different in size and proportion so I had to experiment with using a combination of offsetting individual lines or sometimes the entire profile. Still haven't forced myself into using the instancing yet on larger projects. I feel like I'm coming over the hump with getting past the basics. I still find filleting and chamfering to still seem unpredictable to me. But it will probably just take some more practice to understand what order to start it in, etc. There are a number of edges that I gave up on because this was just for practice and won't be in any permanent portfolio work. Still one of the biggest hurdles is keeping motivation to finish the project. There were more than a few times I was so sick of looking at this thing, but I told myself I was going to finish it no matter what. I've already got too many half-finished projects from Plasticity and Blender on my hard drives as it is.

Nice work!
Help needed for tricky shape
Hello all, I'm tackling another Robert L Kiss design. A while back he designed a neat little sc-fi flyer (see pictures) and while most of the shapes are straightforward the front of the vehicle is proving very difficult to model. If anyone could give me some pointers on how you'd approach this I'd be really grateful.

Yes you’re right it’s more nuanced. I think I found a good way of making the front by subdividing a face to help with the more gentle curves.
