We have met and passed the 150 members milestone.
I am so pleased and excited that more people have decided to belong here. Please get to know and welcome these new members. They have varying interests, so if some of them have similar interests take some time to get to know them and talk about stuff. Just remember the rule about not soliciting or self promoting. There is a time and place for that. Nancy Miranda has written a little and is interested in poems and novels. Nancy joined for self motivation. Stephanie Mata has written a little and is interested in poetry. Stephanie joined out of interest. Morgan Cool has some completed works and is interested in blogging, songs, books, and web. Morgan joined because she needs a community of others who have similar hobbies. Emily Phipps is new to writing and is interested in poetry and memoir writing. Emily found us in a search and I for one am glad she did. Kenny Feather (cool name) has written a little and is interested in writing Songs. When I asked what convinced Kenny to join, his responce was a simple "Hmmmm". I think Kenny was warming up the vocal chords in preparation of giving us all a song. What do you think? Christina T is new to writing and is interested in poetry and script writing. Christina joined as an aspiring creative writer. Paul Cole has some completed works and is interested in non fiction. Paul joined because of how he learn about our community. Leslie Grayson has written a little and is interested in fiction and nonfiction. Leslie joined because she woul'd love to be around like minded people.

Thank you for keeping me updated, and I'll definitely be here whenever you're ready to chat. I'm looking forward to hearing how everything goes and what comes out of your conversation with her. By the way, what are you most excited about moving forward?

@Melissa Poetrylpls That’s such a beautiful way to look at it. I can really feel the passion and joy you have for writing. There’s something special about being able to express yourself freely through words while also encouraging and supporting others along the way. Having a sense of purpose like that is truly inspiring, and I’m glad writing gives you that feeling of freedom.
BOOK FORMATTING!!!
Many authors spend weeks, months, and sometimes years writing a manuscript. They carefully build their characters, develop ideas, shape stories, and pour emotions into every chapter. After finishing the final sentence, most people feel the hardest part is over. But there is one important element many authors unintentionally overlook, and that is book formatting. Book formatting is often treated like a simple finishing touch, when in reality it plays a major role in the reader's experience. A professionally formatted book does much more than make pages look organized. It creates comfort, improves readability, and gives your work the presentation it deserves. Think about opening a book and immediately noticing strange spacing, inconsistent fonts, paragraphs that feel crowded, chapter headings that do not align properly, or text sitting too close to the edge of the page. Even if the story itself is amazing, those small details quietly affect the reading experience. Readers may not always say, "This book is poorly formatted," but they notice how the book feels while reading it. Good formatting allows your words to breathe. It creates smooth transitions from page to page. It helps readers focus on your story, your message, and your ideas instead of being distracted by layout issues. Formatting is not simply about appearance. It is about functionality. It is about guiding the reader naturally through your work without interruption. Proper formatting creates balance and professionalism that supports the quality of the content you worked so hard to create. Imagine spending years building a beautiful house and then arranging the rooms in a way that makes it difficult for people to move comfortably. The structure exists, but the experience feels incomplete. Your manuscript is your message, but formatting is how that message is presented to the world. A great story deserves more than good writing. It deserves a professional reading experience. Never underestimate the power of formatting because readers remember not only what they read, but also how your book made them feel. 📖✨

@Mirah Tracy This is such an important reminder for authors. Writing a book takes tremendous dedication, and it's easy to focus entirely on the manuscript itself while overlooking the reader's experience on the page. I especially like the comparison between a well-built house and its layout; it perfectly illustrates how formatting supports the journey readers take through a book. Professional formatting may seem subtle, but it can make the difference between a book that feels polished and one that unintentionally distracts from the message. In your experience, what is the most common formatting mistake you see authors make when preparing their books for publication?
