✅ Task: Community Map
Hi all, I have a task for you. Please go to the map above and tag the person who "lives" closest to you in a comment and leave them a hello in the comments. I'm really excited to see how many connections you can make today! [Note: This isn't meant to be creepy - the closest person might be 1000kms away from you]

Question: What Do You Do to Upgrade Your Offers with AI
Experienced Biz Owners: Share 1 (one) piece of advice to new biz owners in comments. New Biz Owners: Ask one, brief & specific question for experienced biz owners to answer in the comments. ** Let’s be generous and scroll through comments to leave at least 2-3 replies ** Move on to another question if that member has already received 3 pieces of advice. Let’s not overwhelm or confuse them

@Vanessa Choi Agree--just make sure you train the AI in your voice and your business before doing so.

@Julia Sherrod I thought about the people I most like to work who have a problem I can solve. We tend to think, "I can help everyone' when we start out, and it's hard to buy in to niching at first. But niching, however deep, is key to finding your peeps.
Doing More Marketing Is Not The Answer
Something I see a lot is people feeling like their marketing isn’t working, so the instinct is to add more. More content. More platforms. More strategies. And honestly, that usually makes things worse, not better. Most of the time, the issue isn’t effort, it’s focus. The message isn’t fully clear yet, or the channel doesn’t really match the audience, so instead of fixing that, we stack more tactics on top. What tends to work better is slowing down and simplifying. One clear message, delivered consistently, on one channel where your audience already pays attention. A simple check I like to use is: - Do people instantly understand what I do? - Do they know who it’s for? - Am I giving this strategy enough time before switching again? Marketing starts to work when it feels intentional, not scattered. Have you ever seen better results after doing less and focusing more? Leave a comment

So true! People focus on tactics rather than strategy and end up with mish-mash messaging. They must immediately get what you do and who you do it for, especially on your website (and social media profiles as well). Otherwise they bounce and move on to the next business. 😔
Visibility
One of the biggest reasons good businesses struggle isn’t because their product or service is bad, it’s because people don’t know they exist. Visibility simply means: are the right people seeing you? You can have the best offer in the world, but if no one sees it, nothing happens. Think about how you discover new businesses: - You see a post a few times - Someone mentions them - You search on Google - You click a website That’s visibility at work. A common mistake is trying to be everywhere at once, Instagram, TikTok, email, ads, everything, and then burning out. Visibility doesn’t mean “be everywhere.” It means show up consistently where your audience already is. Another thing people miss: visibility isn’t just about posting. It's also about being easy to find when someone goes looking for you. That’s where things like Google, websites, and clear profiles matter. Most customers don’t buy the first time they see you. They notice you, disappear, see you again, then come back when they’re ready. Visibility creates familiarity, and familiarity builds trust. SO: - Where do most people currently find your business? - And where should they be finding you? Drop your thoughts below. Let’s talk.

I would add that you also need to make sure that you are representing yourself well on any platform, including the profile pages. Your website is a big part of this. Are you sending people to a location that makes sense and that continues the conversation, or are you sending them randomly? Consistency also needs to apply to the content of your messaging as well as the frequency of showing up.
An introduction
Hello Everyone! My name is Patty Fogarty and I am a website strategist and copywriter. My side business helps small businesses and nonprofits identify what's missing from/amiss with their website content (words, images, SEO, UX, layout, accessibility, and much more) so they can start getting the attention and leads they need. Been in marketing my entire career, former video producer, and now a copywriter/UX writer/content designer. I am often floored by what I see others doing with AI and I would love to learn how to apply all of that goodness to my business and life. I use AI now for copy brainstorming, determining target audiences, research, and to answer a lot of random questions. I've already gotten some great tips from people here and can't wait to learn more!

@Niya Davis It can be overwhelming, but it's not insurmountable. It's a bit like buying stocks. You do your research and make your best guess by the numbers. The good news is that you can always change your choice, so it's not a fatal decision.
