AI Developer Accelerator Weekly Call - April 08 - Recording
VIEW RECORDING - 98 mins (No highlights) Key Takeaways - Participants are working on diverse AI projects, from vehicle routing optimization to audiobook narration with AI voices - Several members are exploring advanced RAG techniques and LLM-powered data analysis tools - There's a focus on leveraging AI for business growth, including thought leadership content creation and lead generation - The group continues to push boundaries in AI application, tackling complex problems and sharing knowledge Topics Vehicle Routing Problem - Tom Welsh is working on optimizing routes for 49 train stations across three regions - Challenges include factoring in different transportation modes (car vs. train) and time constraints - Brandon suggested using the concept of "strong nodes" to cluster locations, potentially reducing complexity from 49 to ~10 nodes - A high school student solved a similar problem in 57 minutes; Brandon will share the relevant video AI-Powered Audiobook Narration - Richard completed a project for audiobook reading with different character voices - Using OpenAI's voice API, but facing limitations with available voices and sentiment control - Exploring 11Labs as an alternative, with suggestions to create multiple voice IDs per character for different emotions - OpenAI's TTS (text-to-speech) hints feature was recommended for more nuanced voice control

Was the April 15 call recorded? I once again missed it due to my kids' track meet (always on Tuesdays it seems!) but would really love to see the recording to check in on what you all have been up to.
Vibe Coding?
Hi yall I have 0 technical background and about 6-7 months of experience in the AI and automation space. I have just been getting into vibe coding. Simple landing pages and the groundworks for an app using lovable. Any advice on how to further my skill? What does a developer look at when first planning out an App? Is there a framework to work off of?

Loveable and bolt.new (and other similar services) will be building next.js apps for you most likely. I'd say the next step in your evolution is to get Cursor and build your next.js apps with it. You can use the agent mode to create similar projects but have direct access to your source code where you can chat directly with the code to create more complex features. You'd need to find somewhere to host it obviously, but it would be the next step in your AI coder evolution.
[New Video] Firebase Studio: 9 Must See Features (FREE to Use)
Hey team! Firebase Studio just dropped and it’s a game changer. πŸŽ‰ In my newest video, I walk you through how Firebase Studio lets you prompt your way into building full-stack AI apps seriously, it's that easy. Along the way, we end up building a slick AI-powered todo app using Gemini AI that auto-ranks your tasks by difficulty... but the real star here? πŸ”₯ The 9 insane agent driven development features inside Firebase Studio that make all this magic possible. Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll see: - 🧠 AI-driven prototyping that turns prompts into working code - 🎨 A visual editor that makes building actually fun - ⚑ Instant previews so you can test before you commit - πŸ”Œ Seamless Firebase integrations that save you time πŸš€ Whether you’re just getting started or scaling something big, Firebase Studio is setting a new bar for AI dev tools and it’s 100% free. πŸŽ₯ Watch the full breakdown here: https://youtu.be/-A3QkftCCPw Would love to hear what you build with it! Drop any questions you have down below. Cheers, Brandon πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»πŸ₯‚

That looks great. It looks like the only mobile option is Android though?

@Brandon Hancock I'm not familiar with flutter projects. I'll have to read up on them.
MCP or Function calling?
Hi, I have a NextJS app I am building (as some of you recall) and I have data in a postgreSQL DB. I want to do some analysis on this data to build a report for the user. I'm wondering if I should use the OpenAI API's ability to call functions on in my app or should I look into setting up an MCP server? Any thoughts on which path I should start going down? I essentially want the AI to look at all the data and make recommendations back to the user. Thanks.

Thanks Bastian - that is how I was leaning but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
