There’s an Oil for That!
In the vast sea of aromatherapy and essential oils, there is always one oil — one blend — that speaks directly to the nervous system and says, Calm down. Be still. So how do we navigate this sea? How do we arrive safely at the port? We sail on the body’s own wisdom. Which oil does your body feel drawn to? Which one does it quietly desire? Do florals call to you, an imagining of rose petals beneath you? Do you long for a light, summer day, and the warmth of an orange sun? Can you sense the grounding pull of the earth when you think of vetiver? Do you pine for the comfort of a Christmas evergreen? Or the shelter and steadiness of a cedar cabin? No worries. There’s an oil for that. This is navigation on the sea of essential oils— and I’ll be your guide

@Jennifer Turner you have to tell me more about them.

@Jennifer Turner no wonder you love Console. The Oils they list are amazing for exactly what the name suggests. For some reason my dog was up all night. I made a Lavender, May Chang blend to get me back to sleep: heaven!
Peace Is Under Attack
There’s a quiet war going on for your peace. Most days, it doesn’t announce itself. It just shows up as poor sleep, a short fuse, racing thoughts, and that foggy feeling you can’t shake. Essential oils are one of my favorite weapons of choice — not because they’re trendy, but because they’re efficient. Scents don’t ask you to analyze, affirm, or power through. They go straight to the nervous system and give it information it understands immediately: You’re safe. You can stand down. That’s why aromatherapy is such a no-brainer. Who doesn’t want a good night’s sleep without waking up groggy and foggy? Who has time to recall affirmations when: • you're carrying other's needs all day • the checkbook needs balancing • and you’re already late (again)? This is not about doing more. It's about giving your system support that works with your real life — not against it. If peace feels hard to come by lately, it may not be a mindset problem. It might just be a nervous system that needs clearer signals. 🕯️💤

@Donna Ferguson you’re welcome.
Why Calm Isn’t a Mindset — It’s a State
One of the most misunderstood things about stress is the idea that we should be able to “think our way out of it.” But stress isn’t a thought problem first. It’s a physiological state. When the nervous system is activated, the body prioritizes protection. Blood flow, breathing patterns, and sensory awareness all shift in service of safety. In that moment, insight and logic are secondary. That’s why trying to reason with yourself while overwhelmed often feels frustrating or ineffective. Aromatherapy works because it speaks the body’s language. Scent enters through the olfactory system and communicates directly with the parts of the brain responsible for emotion and memory. This creates a shift before conscious effort is required. The body settles first. Then clarity follows. That order matters. Calm isn’t something we force or perform. It’s something the nervous system recognizes. When the body feels safer, better decisions become possible. Why? Well not because we pushed harder, but because we created the conditions for steadiness. Gentle reflection: What changes for you when calm arrives before clarity?

@Jennifer Turner I’ve spent years studying the work and teachings of long-standing aromatherapists, and I care deeply about keeping this work grounded and respectful of the body and nervous system. If you’re ever interested in exchanging tools or perspectives around aromatherapy, I’m always open to that! 🥰
