How to onboard copywriting clients (and not go CRAZY)
Over the past 12 months I’ve written copy for 25+ Skool communities and scaled my agency to $50K+/mo. Last January I onboarded 6 new copywriting clients in 30 days. All while traveling, going to events, and even exploring London. 🎡👀 So what’s the secret behind writing copy for lots of clients at once? Having SYSTEMS. Here’s my simple 2-step system that ensures a smooth experience for both me and my clients: Step 1: Simplify research Before you start writing, explore your client’s target audience, content and tone of voice. Then, CONDENSE all 3 into 1 document. 🤏 Here’s how: 1. Take 10+ pieces of their content (YouTube, shorts, etc.) 2. Transcribe using NoteGPT (yes, it’s free) 3. Plug into ChatGPT and ask for a summary Step 2: Set communication cadence Before you start your first project, set 3 key expectations with your client: 1. When and how will you communicate? (email, Slack, texts?) 2. How will you deliver the copy? 3. How will you track progress? (weekly calls, reports, etc.) (You don’t want clients messaging you at 12am asking for revisions, right?) Bonus tip: 💡 The client just handed you A LOT of money (hopefully $2K+) 😉 So you want to reinforce that working with you was a great decision in the first 24 hours after onboarding. You can send a Loom review of their content, free Skool graphics, or even a quick brand summary to show you did your homework. Best part? Once you nail this system, you can stack clients and get some sleep too. 🥱 P.S. How many clients do you currently have guys? Let me know in the comments 👇

@Jake Mueller Yeah my clients are just paying retainer except for one client I have a retainer + rev share and I manage all the tracking through GHL and a google sheet. Depends on the client, but typically I have access to their CRM even if they're the one managing email blasts. Just so I can see which emails perform And no, I don't sell anything affiliated with GHL, mostly just because all my clients have been in business for a bit and already have a CRM set up. Great idea for onboarding a new client though
Beating 99% of people isn’t rocket science — it’s just rare.
Here’s how: 1)Be the first one in the room. 2)Plan tomorrow before today ends. 3)Remember names — people never forget that. 4)Say no to noise. 5)Follow up fast. 6)Follow up again. 7)Add value every time you show up. 8)Make new mistakes, not repeat ones. No hacks. No fluff. Just doing the simple stuff better than everyone else — over and over again. The “next level” isn’t some secret. It’s doing the basics… at scale.

Beating other people in business often comes down to dialing in on the basics!

What do you say when a prospect says "no thanks" after you've given free value? What's the best reply?

You can try asking them if they know anyone else who needs copywriting!

Most entrepreneurs have an epic network and for sure know someone who needs help with marketing 😉

Awesome idea!
Messy Middle
Anyone else feeling a little lost on this journey? Like… you’ve written a few pieces, studied some sales pages, but still wondering — what’s next? Is this enough to start reaching out to potential clients? Or are we just missing something? If you’ve never had a client yet and you’re in this messy middle — learning, doubting, trying — let’s connect. We don’t have to figure it all out alone. Maybe we can learn (and grow) together.

I’ve generated $3M on skool, helped 6 communities win the games, and won the games myself.
