33 contributions to Skoolology: Bring Your Build
Can we just talk about the people in this room for a minute?
You are so generous with each other. Someone shares what they’re building, and you lean in. You ask questions. You offer ideas. You share something you’ve learned. You encourage someone who’s unsure. You celebrate the wins. And sometimes you simply say, “I get it.” You notice each other. You remember what someone was working on and come back to ask how it went. You see a question and think, “I might be able to help with that.” You share what worked for you without assuming it has to be the answer for someone else. And sometimes you ask the question that helps another builder see something they couldn’t quite see on their own. When you share what you’re learning, someone else learns, too. When you ask the question you’re afraid might be obvious, someone else is relieved you asked it. When you encourage another builder, you remind them they don’t have to figure all of this out alone. You make this room what it is. Not just by being here. By bringing what you know, what you’re wondering, what you’re trying, and what you’re learning. And by being willing to share some of it with each other. I hope you know how much that matters. And how much YOU matter here. 💜

🎉 FIRST PAYING MEMBER!!!
I have permission to hype her, so obviously I’m going to. 😂❤️ Just over a week ago, @Lisa Vanderveen opened the doors to Kingdom Peace & Prosperity. If you’ve been following along, you know Lisa has been BUILDING. 😂 She’s been experimenting, changing things, following ideas, having conversations, and creating something that feels very much like HER. And today... SOMEONE PAID TO BE IN THE ROOM!!! 🎉🥳❤️ KPP officially has its first paying member. Lisa, I know you have BIG dreams for what you’re building, but I hope you stop and enjoy this one. Because there’s only ever ONE first paying member. ❤️ Someone saw what you’re creating and said... Yep. I want in. THAT deserves a celebration. Congratulations, Lisa!!! 🎉❤️🥳

Before I post impulsively 🐼
I thought I’d ask my best business buds first 🙌🏻 My community is a bit different in that I’m not really selling anything… 🤷🏻‍♀️👽😅🌈 I do have paid options but for now I’m just building the party. I’m not even saying I won’t make money and have tons of members any more because I can’t tell the future and should really stop trying 😅😂🐬 We talk heavy emotions and the setting is a spaceship. 🚀 anyways…. I posted a song Thursday from “the captains toolbox” aka things I use in my own daily life to get through the emotional wreckage of life. And that got great reviews and stirred some thoughtful conversation. 🦋 Today I was just jamming to some good tunes I’ve been trying to branch away from mainstream media better. I have plenty of new and even old favorites that have come back but one in particular hit so hard I thought … Holy crap why don’t I do more music posts! I thought about testing the idea in my community, which I still will but first, I wanted to see what yall think 🤔 Post idea: **NEW weekly post** Musical Mondays 🎶 [ music begins playing through the halls of Horizons-7 🎼 🛸] It is HEAVILY encouraged that crew members take time to sit with this song and contemplate all the aspects. Lyrics, tones, reactions.. Reflection prompt: What doodles can you undo and which have you already unmade? (I will probably add more emojis but it’s the wording I’m worried about)

@Oddysey Campbell @Donna Thornton I'm alive!
🎶 COMMON GROUND: You’re the DJ! 🎤
This one is partly @Oddysey Campbell Oddysey’s fault. 😂❤️ She got us talking about how she’s bringing more music into her community, and it sparked an idea... What if we built a Skoolology playlist together? 🐼 But we're making it a little more interesting. Today, YOU are the DJ. You get to play ONE song for all of us. 💃 Make us dance. 🎤 Make us sing. ❤️ Make us feel something. 🌎 Bring us something from your part of the world. 😂 Or make us seriously question your musical taste. Any decade. Any genre. Any language. BUT WAIT... Apparently Skoolology has also installed an imaginary online karaoke machine. 🎤😂 So here's the real question: What song are you adding to the Skoolology playlist...and would you actually sing it at Skoolology Karaoke? 😂 Choose your status: 🎤 HAND ME THE MIC — I'm singing it! 😬 ONLY WITH BACKUP SINGERS 😂 ABSOLUTELY NOT. I'm the DJ, remember? Drop your song + artist + karaoke status below. 👇 And yes...I said ONE song. Let's see how long that rule lasts. 😂

@Donna Thornton slept for 24 hours with regular water top ups in between, so yes I'm a lot better now.
🎤 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁
Hi Everyone!! As I'm getting ready to bring speakers into my first summit, I thought I'd share a little of what I've actually been working on behind the scenes, and hopefully help anyone who might be thinking about hosting a summit out with some of this. Because I had NO idea how many decisions would happen before a single speaker ever stepped onto a virtual stage. 😂 And, to be fully transparent, I've been in a 9 week training program to learn how to launch and host a summit! So here we go... so far, I've: ✨ 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿. I wanted the summit to be really aligned with the focus of my community because that's where I'm hosting it. That eventually became 🫆𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁, focused on what makes our (midlife women's) experience, judgment, creativity and other human strengths even more valuable in the age of AI. ✨ 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁. How many days? What types of topics fit? What kinds of sessions? What speaker/sponsorship options will I offer? How much am I willing to spend on ads? What does the attendee experience look like? There were a LOT more decisions here than I expected. ✨ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝟵𝟬-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻. Using a timeline provided to me in my training, I worked backward from summit week and mapped out speaker recruitment, applications, asset collection, promotion, tech checks, recordings and all the other things that need to happen between “I'm going to host a summit!” and actually hosting one. 😂 ✨ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀. Instead of just inviting people and hoping their topic fits, I created an application around the summit theme, audience and the kind of experience I want attendees to have. ✨ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀. I've created a full Speaker Prospectus website that explains the summit, who will be in the room, the types of topics I'm looking for, expectations, deadlines and what I'm trying to create with the event. ✨ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗦𝗸𝗼𝗼𝗹. This is where accepted speakers will get everything they need without me emailing or dm'ing different documents and links all over the place. 😂
