Donna rewrote the Skoolology About page, and it is ranking better than anything we've put there before. She built it with a new framework she has been developing for about pages. I had nothing to do with it, which may explain a lot. So the framework now has a working name: Todd You So. (Say it out loud. It sounds like "told you so," which is what Donna gets to say to me now.) Two things to keep in mind: 1. Rankings are an early signal. The real verdict comes when we see long-term conversion percentages. 2. Not every framework, or even every template, works for every community. What fits ours may not fit yours. We'd like your take. You know those things we keep moving to tomorrow's list? Not because we don't care about them. Sometimes it's quite the opposite. We find something else to work on. Do a little more research. Tweak something that probably doesn't need tweaking. And somehow, that ONE thing keeps waiting. I've certainly been guilty of this. 😂 So here's my question for today... What's something in your build you keep finding a reason NOT to do? And here's the interesting part... What do you think makes that particular thing so easy to put off? No judgment. @Jen Ps brought me a question today, and we decided it might help someone else. 🤗 She’s already getting traffic from Pinterest. Some people land on her quiz, some on her blog, and some on Lighter. But none of those paths currently lead to her paid community, The Room to Breathe. So she was trying to figure out... Do I send people from Pinterest directly to The Room? Invite them through my quiz and emails? Add invitations to my blog posts? And 😂 her strategic thinker brain was trying to do ALL THREE at once. As we talked, the question shifted. Instead of: “Where should I send my traffic?” we started asking: “What’s the most natural next step for someone who found me HERE?” Someone taking her quiz may need a different next step than someone reading one of her blog posts. And someone who sees a pin specifically about putting down mental load might be ready to visit The Room directly. So Jen has a test. She’s going to connect The Room more intentionally to the things she already has AND try a few pins that lead directly there. No new funnel. No new thing to build. 😂 Just connecting the dots and watching what happens. And it made me wonder about the rest of us. Where are people finding you right now? I’ve been thinking about gratitude today. Building a community can sometimes feel like something we’re doing on our own. Our community. Our decisions. Our ideas. Our worries about whether any of it is actually working. 😅 But when I stop and think about it, none of us really builds alone. There are people who ask a question that makes us think differently. People who share something they’ve learned. People who encourage us when we need it. People who celebrate a little win with us. And people who simply keep showing up. ❤️ I’m especially grateful today for the way people show up for one another here. I see questions answered, ideas shared, encouragement offered, and people taking the time to really listen to each other. Those things matter. And it has me thinking about all the people, in all the different corners of our lives, who become part of what we’re building. A friend. A member. A mentor. A spouse. Someone in another community. Maybe even someone who has no idea they’ve influenced us at all. Who are you feeling especially grateful for in your building journey today?
