✅ Sales Discount Approval Flow – Summary Just completed an automation project that improves how Sales Reps at Currys PC World request and track discounts during deal negotiations. 🛠️ Part 1: I built a Screen Flow that: - Only allows discount requests in the Negotiation/Review stage - Captures the proposed discount & reason - Updates the Opportunity and sets the request to Pending - Sends a real-time email alert with Opportunity details to the approver 📊 Bonus: Added validation to warn if discount > 20% 🛠️ Part 2: I created a Record-Triggered Flow that: - Listens for updates to the Discount Status - Sends an email notification when a discount is Approved or Rejected - Includes key Opportunity details, discount info, and a direct record link 🎯 This automation streamlines the entire discount approval process — boosting visibility, accountability, and sales team efficiency!

The Hackney Sales Team in London is in chaos. Reps from Camden and Islington are somehow able to view and edit Hackney’s Opportunities — even though these deals are highly sensitive. But here’s the twist: Hackney’s team also collaborates with the Legal Team on deals above £100,000, and Legal needs read-only access to those high-value Opportunities — but nothing else. Even worse, Hackney’s Manager runs reports and sees Opportunities from all teams — making it impossible to track Hackney’s true pipeline. You’ve just been hired as the Salesforce Admin to untangle this mess. The business wants: ✅ Hackney Reps can only see and edit Hackney’s Opportunities. ✅ Hackney Manager sees all Hackney records, but nothing from Camden or Islington. ✅ Legal can see only Hackney’s Opportunities worth more than £100,000 — and read-only. ✅ No impact on Camden or Islington teams’ visibility into their own records. 🧠 How would you fix this? To fix this problem I will follow steps below: 1. Org-Wide Defaults , Opportunities Set to Private First, I updated the OWD for Opportunities to Private., Hackney Sales Reps profile allows read/edit access on the opportunity object. 2. Role Hierarchy , for Hackney, Camden, Islington Next, I configured a Role Hierarchy so that, Hackney Reps report to Hackney Sales Manager. Camden Reps and Islington Reps have their own separate managers and hierarchy. Hackney Sales Manager will automatically have access to all Opportunities owned by Hackney Reps via Role Hierarchy 3. Public Group for Legal Team I created a Public Group for the Legal Team and added legal team users . 4. Criteria-Based Sharing Rule for Legal Access if Hackney Opportunities greater than £100,000, share with public group,, I created a Criteria-Based Sharing Rule on Opportunities: Criteria: Region = Hackney AND Amount > £100,000 Shared with Public Group -Legal Team/ Read only access 5. No impact on Camden or Islington teams’ visibility into their own records. Making sure no impact on Camden or Islington’s visibility into their own records ,I went to Reports and used the filter ‘Show Me: My Team’s Opportunities’. This filter ensures that each manager only sees their own team records Camden sees Camden, Islington sees Islington. After applying the filter, I saved the reports into separate folders for each team to keep the data separated.
