Hi all, I’m Nathan and I’m from the UK. I am a technical consultant for a fintech company and my role is very technical, focusing on designing, implementing and supporting cloud solutions. I’ve found ChatGPT to be an excellent companion to help me understand the business I work for. For example, there is a lot of financial jargon that goes along with the role and internal documentation can be be very difficult to understand without prior context. So I have turned to GPT4 and created a ‘work assistant’ prompt which I use everyday. I pass in non-sensitive information from PDF’s (approved by my manager) and ask for simple explanations of concepts, explained using analogies and it has improved my knowledge and confidence so much. Other use cases are for technical information, I use products such as PowerShell, Power Automate and Azure Services and having a technical expert on hand to guide me is great. I have made use of the prompts I’ve found online and adapted them according to my needs and the results have been impressive. I have fully embraced this technology and see it as a companion. I feel it has improved my life in many ways and this is just the beginning. If it does eventually replace me, I hope I’ve made my money by then 😂 Are there any others in similar technical roles out there? How do you use this amazing technology in your role?
