Haven't looped in a while
Wanted to practice my timing and play something live without any overdubs, and what’s better for that than a looper pedal? 😁 If your timing is bad, the looper will expose you instantly. How do you usually practice timing and rhythm?

@Lucas Bryars yeah, rhythm/timing exercises can get boring pretty quickly. Lopping 'riff' based things instead of simple chords to solo over is a great way to improve rhythm/timing. I needed bunch of takes to get this right because it's a longer phrase and I was changing the tempo. For each new layer it sounded worse and worse haha 😆

@Clemens Hackmack I've bought a guitar online once without trying it and I'm pretty sure I won't do it again at least for the price I paid. If I had the chance to try it, probably I wouldn't have bought it to be honest. I really don't like the idea of buying instruments online without trying them first

@Christian Lie it was the white Jazzmaster I have. After buying it they removed that model from the website, so apparently it was the last one in the store and it wasn't in the best shape in general. It was buzzing everywhere when I got it and had to take it for a setup. The guy who was setting it up said I should have returned it. But he managed to make it playable

Finally wrote a riff
I was changing strings on my acoustic and tuned to DADGAD. Lately I've been very into Emma Harner's playing and wanted to try and write something with natural harmonics. Didn't expected much to be honest haha 😆 I'm really not into writing mode these last few years. But, I liked how this turned out and decided to share it.

@Lucas Bryars haha 😆 yeah there are a few riffs actually. Forgot to mention in the post that I basically use the 'method' you were explaining in your video. Didn't really think about theory, just tried to connect notes to sound nice 🙂

Making a new video on how to record acoustic guitar. Have you ever recorded yourself using a simple home recording setup before?

I've recorded acoustic a bunch of times in the last few years and this is the best sound I was able to get https://youtube.com/shorts/yo1IeHk0QD0?si=1wPtlfNaWOPJnKJW I have the same interface and mic as @Christian Lie I've got the best results with double tracking. First take is recorded straight into the mic (30-40 cm away from the mic at 12th fret) and for the second take I turn away when recording. Then I pan both tracks at 20-30% left and right. Both takes are mixed pretty much the same with a small difference in the EQ. I can post some screenshots of the mixing chain of someone is interested

@Christian Lie Thank you! I use only stock Ableton effects. Tried to do it in Reaper, but couldn't get the right sound with it's stock effects. Maybe @Clemens Hackmack can share his mixing chains :) I use only compressor and eq on each track plus limiter on the master. Here are some screenshots
