Real, alive BUGS. They don't really discriminate, either. If it's alive and they can chase it, they are all about it!
Roo or hen
These 2 go at each other a lot? Roos or hens. They're 8 weeks old

Silkies are the toughest to tell! I usually have to wait until they start crowing to know!
Mud
How are people keeping mudd to a minimum ? They are walking it all in to the coop and the run , they free roam during day but past 3 days its a total nightmare the bedding is soaked and it’s making the coop feel colder 😭

Do you have anywhere you can get wood pellets? It helps soak up wet spots! Long term I’d suggest getting some sand. It seems to drain better.
Tender advice
What’s the #1 mistake you made early on that you’d save others from? No judgment — just wisdom. I’ll go first. We jumped in head first with 20 chicks of all different breeds. It was fun but we ended up with about half of them roosters. I’d recommend finding what purpose you have for them and then sticking with a couple breeds designed for that. Don’t just go with all the fun breeds you can find. Also, have a second coop ready and available for if you have to quarantine early. 😅

Mine kind of goes along the same route as yours. Slowly build your flock I think people forget that Chickens only lay an abundance of eggs for so long so you’re left with a lot of chickens who don’t lay eggs when you build your flock too quickly.
Wacky Chicken Wednesday
Chickens are basically tiny chaos wizards. What’s the weirdest or funniest thing your flock (or a single chicken) does? Example: screaming at a leaf like it committed crimes. 😂 Story time 👇

This is Honey, she was my favorite silkie that passed away this year. You'd never know she was a silkie in the pictures because she REFUSED to stay out of the rain and snow. She looked pathetic 😂. Sometimes I couldn't bear it and Id bring her in the garage to keep her safe in bad weather lol.
