Mud
How are people keeping mudd to a minimum ? They are walking it all in to the coop and the run , they free roam during day but past 3 days its a total nightmare the bedding is soaked and it’s making the coop feel colder 😭

@Debbi Jesse it’s more what they walk in at the moment , weather here in UK seems to be getting less wet and less muddy so it’s starting to be less messy again, just last week was an absolute nightmare 😂

@Nichole Rogers we’ve come up with a plan I’m going to dig up the mud , get fresh soil . Lay it with sand ,membrain then wood chips , got a builders yard close by so shouldn’t be too hard to source it all x😊
Crazy Roo! Help!!!
Hello fellow chicken tenders! I’ve had a few chickens for a few years. Going pretty well. Got some chicks about 9 months ago. 2 were Roos. I sent one back home to where he came from. The 1 left is a great guard chicken, but why does he feel the need to protect my chickens from ME?! Past few days he’s come at me- at treat time- when it’s time to go inside for the evening. Once they are roosted, I can pet him anywhere, calmly, with no fear. But now, at treat time, he goes nuts for the container and me! I picked him up last week and carried him around with no aggression. Now, he looks at me all “cock”eyes! I want to keep him for many reasons, but I can’t have a half-cocked rooster in my yard with kids, dogs and neighbors. Any thoughts?

Hey lovely , At 8 months most roosters start to mature and go through their chicken puberty with quick release of hormones . first you have to stand your ground if he even thinks you will run he will continue to charge and become more aggressive, carry a broom not to hit him with but to guard your legs and block his attacks if necessary , if he charges don’t kick or hit as he will then experience you as a threat , instead gently push away with a broom or your foot 😊 another potential cause for the sudden aggression could be down to two many or too little amounts of hens. If he’s way too over protective over the hens another option is isolating for a few days this can sometimes reset behaviours , but every rooster is different so it doesn’t always work . Hope this helps xx
Can I give this to my chickens
I have a question. I boiled turkey neck, heart and liver with onions, carrots and celery. Can I give my chickens the neck ?
