I have a friend who's openly ADHD.
Runs a local pet store. Great guy. A few months back, during one of our calls, he shared that he was losing customers. “not because of bad service… I lose them because I forget.” Missed appointment bookings. No follow-ups. People say, “I’ll come by this weekend”, and no reminder ever goes out. And honestly, I related to it immediately. (GUILTY) People who don't know how ADHD minds work say it's "lack of discipline". But I’ve dealt with the same thing. Not the work… just the remembering part. (again guilty) And I am SURE it has nothing to do with discipline. TRUST ME! Anyway, I set up a simple AI system that handles bookings, reminders, and follow-ups in the background. After a couple of weeks, he just mentioned things felt easier. NGL, his business runs super smoothly that even I, his friend, have to check his schedule before planning a meetup!😂 Less to keep track of. Less stuff getting missed. I share this because I saw people commenting that they lose appointments, too. I'm sure this can help. That was pretty much it.

@E. V. Wright Happens more than people admit tbh 😅 Sometimes simpler systems just stick better. I make my systems in-house for this very reason. I recommend trying one of the options from my stack to see if it meets your needs.

ADHD Real talk: how expensive is distraction?
ADHD tax sucks (the price we pay for missed appointments, late payment fees, etc.) So I'm curious. If you had to estimate… How much money does distraction cost you in a year?

I used to underestimate this a LOT. Most of the “cost” for me wasn’t missed work… it was missed follow-ups and appointments slipping through. Ended up fixing it by automating scheduling + reminders completely, calls, texts, confirmations, reschedules, all handled. Not perfect, but it removed a huge chunk of that “ADHD tax” without needing more discipline. Worked for me, works for my clients. Win-win!
Two Free Resources for Reducing Distractions ✨️🫧🔫
Hallo! 👋😊 I was inspired by Bill's recent posts to share some FREE Resources that have been super helpful to me in reducing distractions in my life! 😁 1. Blocking Ads 2. ScreenZen - reducing time on apps 1. Blocking Ads!!! I've been using an ad-blocker for over 12 years and it has blocked over a million ads for me in that time 😲🤯 Two options I use: • Google Chrome extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/adblock-%E2%80%94-block-ads-acros/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom?pli=1 • Brave Browser Especially useful on my Android phone (looks like it's available on iPhone, too!): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brave.browser I watch / listen to YouTube ad-free through this Browser on my phone! 😁🦁🌐 . . . 2. ScreenZen https://screenzen.co/ Limits the use of any App of your choosing for however long you want per day! I use it for Facebook and Instagram and it has vastly reduced the amount of doomscrolling and increased my intentionality and focus with them. . . . May these be beneficial to you! 🤗 Cheers to reducing the noise in our lives, so we can focus on that which truly matters 🥹
