The Power of a Calm Mind
A calm mind can overcome the most powerful wave. 🌊 How do you keep your mind steady when the waves get high?

@Scott Gerrard Exactly Scott, keeping perspective like that is the essence of a calm mind. The waves always feel bigger in the moment, but looking back, we see how much calmer we can.

@Ray Thigpen well said Ray, and the calm after the storm, makes the storm look so insignificant.
⚓ The Muster: Every Office Has a Heckler
I was thinking this morning about the difference between a Comedy Club and a Boardroom. Turns out, there isn't much of a difference. In a comedy club, you’ve got the Heckler—the person in the dark corner trying to trip you up, kill your timing, and steal the spotlight. In your office, you’ve got the exact same thing. It might be a shouting boss, a passive-aggressive colleague at the coffee dock, or that one person who always "interrupts with a question" just as you’re reaching your point. They are all just Hecklers. And the rule of the stage is simple: If you lose your temper, the Heckler wins. If you stay steady, the Audience (the crew) stays with you. I want to hear from the Fleet today 1. Where are you sailing? (What’s your industry or role?) 2. Who’s your "Heckler"? (Is it a micro-managing boss? A "vulture" colleague? Or maybe even your own self-doubt?) Sound off in the comments below. Let’s identify the reefs so we can navigate around them together. — Grandad

Thought of the day
‎A lot of problems in the world would disappear if we talked to each other instead of talking about each other.

@Kunda Changwe Talking to people is how you find out what’s actually needed on the ground. A few years back in Ndola, I spent some time with a small community school for children in distress. No 'Boardroom' no CEO—just a few of us talking and planning and doing, and eventually laying the bricks. We managed to build 6 classrooms because the little money we had went straight to the cement, not the suits. When you talk to each other directly, the 'noise' disappears and the work actually gets done.
