Writing this to any and all that still check in here once in a while, but especially @Tammy Matlock @Tom Sandkamp @Samuel Fletcher . I would like to be able to share wine thoughts and experiences from time to time, but it is hard without our Skool’s founder and fearless leader, @Marie Cheslik . Miss you boss! I will continue to try and will be happy if any of you are still willing and able to join in. So let’s start with this pic! I was in NYC earlier this week and reached out to the one and only Aldo Sohm, famous sommelier and author. He was very kind to make 15 minutes for me to chat at his Aldo Sohm Wine bar, adjacent to Le Bernardin restaurant where he is wine director. He signed his brand new book “Wine Simple - Perfect Pairings”, which I had brought with me. If your wine education journey includes getting better at food & wine pairing, this is a must! He was also gracious enough to accept a copy of my humble little wine book! Let me know what you’re drinking and enjoying these days! Cheers to all who read this! 🍷

@Tammy Matlock Thanks Tammy. Hope my little book helped in some ways. Aldo’s book on food and wine pairing explains things so well. It is now my “second bible” to go along with Madeline Puckette’s Master Guide, Magnum Edition. Right now I don’t have any plans to get to Eastern CT this summer. My friend continues to make progress but I feel it might be a ‘27 trip for me. However, I do get to Boston regularly now as my 19 month old granddaughter lives there!

@Samuel Fletcher thanks Sam! Let me know if you get it and what you think. Food & wine pairing can sometimes be a challenge, but when you get it just right..?It’s like 1+1=3!
Vacation wines.
We recently went to Lisbon and a 10 cruise to the Canary Islands, Morocco, and Spain. We had some amazing wines. These are the wines we had in Portugal.

Looking and sounding good @Tom Sandkamp . Good Thanksgiving choices. Didn’t see the Pinot bottle. Producer? I had an Oregon PN from Domaine Serene. Been saving it since my visit there in 2020. As good as I remember!
Vacation Wines Continues
I wasn’t able to post all the wines. Here are some more. I posted a bottle of beer from because the label was amazing. I was also ready to join Marie on for the book tour on line from the ship till I realized it was rescheduled. I was sad. Can’t wait to join on 11/30.

@Tammy Matlock there are some big guns from Bordeaux (and Opus) in these pics! How did they get in? I see the Lynch Bages was opened, harder to tell on the Lafite..I'm sure you enjoyed! You mentioned the Canary Islands. They even grow grapes there too!
Why is This Man Smiling?
Because he got Marie’s book! Look forward to the read! 🍷 @Marie Cheslik

A long time wine lover and, since 2019, a (very) part-time wine educator and author. My alter ego is the Wine Doctor (see links). No attitude!
