OOTD - November 20th - New grey blazer outfit
I recently got my hands on this grey blazer and was wondering for a bit how to style it. Since I got myself my first bakers boy flat cap last week, I thought I’ll try that and pieces with solid colors. Light grey turtleneck with vertical rips for some texture, olive green chinos, black leather belt (hidden on the picture), black derby’s and a pair of dark gloves (extra picture for more details). For my daily carry, I used my canvas messenger bag. Had a fantastic time out with this! Have a great evening, everyone.

11/12 I’VE FINALLY OBTAINED THE BASICS
For those of you gents who have supported me for a while know how much I struggle with getting well-fitting garments due to my physique (skinny waist, skinny neck etc). For this reason, even after 2 years of dedication towards claaaic style, I hadn’t owned a pair of properly fitted chinos nor a light blue shirt which is for most people the second dress shirt they purchase. However, this all changes today! My custom chinos and blue shirt are in my hands, and this is the First outfit to let them shibe. Although they may seem like ordinary items to many, to me they are special with many exciting features And most of all, they’re wonderful garments which provide a strong and neutral support almost any outfit I will craft in the future! Blue, Beige, Khaki Prince of Wales Check Jacket. Custom Light Blue Shirt. Uniqlo Navy Cardigan Dark Blue Tie Burgundy & Beige Pattern. Blue Cornflower Burgundy Pocket Square Blue & Beige Paisley Beige Edge. Custom Khaki Chinos Khaki & Navy Shadow-Striped Socks. Johnston & Murphy Burgundy Wingtip Oxfords Khaki Laces.

Cocktail attire. At 3:15 AM?!?
Some very good friends of ours invited us to a wedding in Dallas (actually Aubrey Tx part of the Dallas sprawl ). Some young new clients had hired me to do a financial plan and the only time we could meet was 8:30 AM yesterday. So up at 3:15 preparing for the meeting. I went ahead and got ready for the evening events knowing that it would be a very tight day. Met clients at my Tulsa office-drove the 4.5 hours to the hotel so my wife could change and made the 5:00 wedding arriving at 4:57 {whew}. Cocktail attire was the info on the invitation. But knowing the crowd I knew that would be ignored these days I wasn’t too concerned. Nevertheless I grabbed my medium weight MTM blue herringbone suit made for me Oct 1995, CT red and blue lined tattersall shirt. A red tartan bow tie. A deep red polka dot pocket square, 1940’s Ernst Borel automatic watch black captoes by J Fitzpatrick. Not seen are my silk deep green braces with red squares. My friend Jim the father is Apache and I love when he wears his authentic Apache beadwork tie. His daughter Jessi the bride is a beautiful young lady who now teaches music and is extremely talented. It was a delightful evening and worth the effort.

Finally it’s chilly enough to wear knitwear under my jackets. The most fun seasons have come! In today’s outfit, I focused on bringing out the colors in my beloved umbrella over a canvas of browns. Looking great, Takumi! Best season of the year, indeed!
Bunching Long sleeves, Sweaters, Henleys, etc.?
We all roll our long sleeves from time to time. In button-ups it is (at least for me) very straight forward but when it comes to sweaters, henleys and others I had a thought a few days ago looking in the mirror and it might be a bit “too detail focused”. However I still wanted to ask if anyone has thought about that or even has some “rules” established for themselves: When you pull up your sleeves “Do you make sure how the bunched up sleeves look on your upper arms?” As in: do you evenly try and distribute the fabric? Bunch everything in the bottom or the upper part? Or maybe some crazy combination? (Examples provided below) Appreciating your insights! 😄

@Scott LeHockey also interesting. Specific reasons for this (if you don’t mind me asking)? 🤔
