@Julien Leveaux David Grey is a great resource for biomechanics and learning to move efficiently. That said, don’t stress too much about not being “reactive” enough, if you’re working through a plyos program like one of Matt’s consistently over months (assuming it’s at a tolerable level for you) it’ll come along in time- plyo gains can often be a lot slower than gym gains and overdoing it trying to find an immediate solution to a niggle can set you back even more sometimes
@Julien Leveaux yea big way with athletics before, especially starting training with spikes after a long time without them- honestly it’s probably a boring maybe dissatisfying answer but mine just recovered over time so long as I didn’t piss it off “testing” etc, and was just kinda conservative with load management when starting up again.
6 months ago Angus told me to get a bigger squat. I went away stopped being a pussy and today hit my old max for a triple. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DCbhNZjsC2p/?igsh=MWpvcnJoMHE1ZmtsMg==
Hey everyone! sorry I've been a bit quiet on here and youtube the last few weeks! trying to get this GPP lvl1 done. Will be around all day answering questions if anyone has any. Can be about training, business, whatever
Late to the party but as you’re preparing for your sprinting track meet is there anything about your training load/style/volume etc you’re looking into changing as your focus shifts or much the same?
Like Angus said last time to upload on IG stories, I did. Up by 2.5kg from last week. I truly believe I’m messing up the pull and it is becoming slow. Took a side angle. https://www.instagram.com/stories/anshuttam.mishra/3492455117527429705?igsh=MWo5OXNyeDdla3E5Nw==
Hey man, the bar speed looks decent and will come along in time, but the catch is still quite high even for a power clean though and you don’t really dip down after the end of the pull. Once the second pull has finished you want to drop down into a (half) squat, you seem to just be bending your knees rather than squatting down at all if that makes sense. I think you may also be making the same error I was in the comment Riley dropped under my hang clean about not doing a first and second pull
@Riley Burke that’s a good point about catch height. With cleans I think a good bit of my admittedly limited learning (at least in terms of the catch) came from doing weights that were challenging enough that I had to dip down fast enough to catch it or I wouldn’t make the lift

Dk if this is a controversial comment to drop, but I think that “interference” is definitely worth considering in the context of things like sprinting/jumping when that’s a clear focus. In terms of just enjoying training and for gen pop I’d agree it’s a negligible effect and a damaging distraction/nocebo. I think there’s definitely a level of generality that’s a minimum for health, but in the context of just improving sprints/jumping, I’ve found reducing the amount of metcon sessions and longer runs I did left me feeling way fresher.
That being said I’m really curious to see how the GPP combine will show how feasible it is to get the best of both worlds: a strong 5k, good hops/speed, and solid strength numbers seems a bit mythical to me taken altogether but it’d be awesome to see someone do it
