@Rachel Milton hahahaha yeah. Sometimes I imagine the reader to be completely different than what they actually look like and that throws me off too.
But Have You Looked In The Mirror Though..?
πŸ“– "Let one not seek others' faults, nor what others have done or left undone. Rather, let one consider what one has done or left undone." β€” Dhammapada, Verse 50 πŸ€” This teaching encourages self-reflection rather than judgment of others. Focusing on others' flaws can create negativity and distract us from our own growth. By turning attention inward, we nurture humility and personal responsibility, fostering inner peace. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ Today, if you find yourself criticizing or judging someone else, pause and bring the focus back to your own actions and attitudes. Reflect on what you can improve within yourself, cultivating empathy and reducing unnecessary judgment. πŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™€οΈ "May I look inward and focus on my own growth. May I release judgment of others and turn my energy toward compassion and self-awareness."

@Rachel Milton that's rough. I feel like we can definitely be our own worst critics, and need to remember to show ourselves some love too πŸ’•
Be Here, Stay Here!
πŸ“– "Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment." β€” Buddhist Teaching πŸ€” This teaching encourages living fully in the present. Dwelling on the past can bring regret, and excessive focus on the future often leads to worry. By bringing attention to the present, we embrace life as it is, finding clarity and peace in the here and now. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ Throughout your day, practice grounding yourself in the present. If you catch your mind wandering to past mistakes or future concerns, gently bring your focus back to what’s in front of you. Notice the colors, sounds, and sensations of the moment. This simple practice can help reduce stress and enhance your sense of well-being. πŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™€οΈ "May I let go of the past and release worries about the future. May I find peace and joy in each present moment, fully alive in the here and now."

Be Here, Stay Here!
Kindly, STFU.
Today, my mind was on one! Ever have one of those days where you feel like your own worst enemy?! Where you can remember every single time you fucked up, or fell short? Where every thought that comes up is laced with mean sarcasm on who and how you are? Well, today was that for me. I tended to spiral into the negative vortex when this would happen. However, lately, I've been making sure I notice these thoughts before they become hurricanes. It's become very interesting to me to see WHERE the thoughts come from. A lot of times it's from an experience I'd completely forgotten about, and that gives me the opportunity to dive into that feeling/experience to be able to address any unmet needs, and really feel what I had blocked out. Doing that allows these thoughts to no longer hold evidence or weight on what the story they try to tell me.. Sometimes though, it's just our mind trying to fuck with us to see if we will give into to the despair it's used to. So to that, I had my handy mug to remind me that not every thought is something we have to analyze.. it's obviously messing with me.. so every sip of coffee helped my mind chill tf out.
Kindly, STFU.

Open That Mind Up!
πŸ“– "Those who cling to perceptions and views wander the world offending people." β€” Sutta Nipata, Verse 847 πŸ€” This teaching highlights the dangers of rigid thinking and attachment to our own viewpoints. When we cling tightly to our perceptions, we limit our ability to understand others and create disharmony. Openness and flexibility foster understanding and ease our relationships. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ Today, practice approaching situations with an open mind. If you encounter a viewpoint different from your own, instead of immediately judging or dismissing it, consider listening with curiosity. This openness can deepen your understanding and reduce conflict in your interactions. πŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™€οΈ "May I release rigid views and embrace openness. May I meet each person with curiosity, seeking to understand rather than to judge."

To me, Open mindedness also allows us to be more empathetic and compassionate. Also, you'd be surprised at how many cool ideas and practices you can find when you open up to new / unknown ones. 🀯
