As a new member of this group I must say that I am very impressed with the quality of the engagement, and positive attitude of everyone compared to most other online groups. It all started with a very warm welcome from Melina followed by detailed instructions to complete my bio and the NBG course which I completed and downloaded the Skool app. I will like to thank you for the opportunity to be part of this amazing community and I look forward to what we will all accomplish through collaboration and education. Thank you!

Junior, I truly appreciate your comment. Yes, this is a space where we learn from one another, support each other, and grow together. At TCSS, our mission is to share REAL and valuable knowledge about this business. One of our biggest goals is to build strong, long-lasting partnerships with the best notaries across the country. That’s exactly why we encourage every notary in our community to keep learning, improving, and striving to become the best professional they can be. This community is built on growth, respect, collaboration, and professionalism. There is no room here for negativity, only opportunities to learn and elevate together.

Welcome @Wanda Marti This is genuinely a place to learn, grow, and share experiences, and not all experiences have to be positive, because we all know not everything in this industry is sunshine and rainbow. This industry is full of real situations, challenges, mistakes, and misunderstandings, and the goal here is to talk about those real things and learn how to handle them professionally and the right way. This is not a place for complaints, drama, or false information, but a community where we can grow together through honest conversations and real experiences. Glad to have you here!
Quick Question 🧐
Signing service says one thing in the order… Title company instructions say something completely different 👀 Now you’re at the table like… 😅 👉 Which one do you follow? 👉 Do you pick one and move forward? 👉 Or stop and reach out? This happens more often than you think, and it can put you in a tough spot Quick thought: When instructions conflict, guessing can cost you more than a quick call 👉 What do YOU do when signing service and title don’t match? 👇

@Lianet Lorenzo Exactly 👏 That pause to confirm instead of guessing is what makes a big difference.

Remember, this is a very imperfect industry. Mistakes can come from everywhere, lender, title, signing service, notary, you name it. That’s why we all need to understand that when something looks contradictory or confusing, the best thing to do is ask questions. The most common issue is usually with witnesses. My suggestion is simple, don’t assume, just ask. Everyone will thank you for doing so.

@Vivian Hernandez Hola Vivian, como te mencioné hace un ratito, antes el curso de español estaba dividido en 2 partes. Ahora es uno solo. Tenemos una versión en español y otra en inglés pero es el mismo contenido.

@Kim Garro You are joking, wowwww, that's a huge accomplishment. And the best months are yet to come. Keep us posted ;)
Cancelling Appointments Without Reason = No Cool
You have a signing scheduled… Everything is confirmed… And then: ❌ The notary backs out 15 minutes before the appointment No explanation… Now you’re scrambling to fix it 😅 Let’s be real, things happen. Emergencies are part of life, and if a notary communicates and can explain the situation, that’s completely understandable. But canceling last minute with no reason or communication? That’s a different story… This kind of situation can impact: 👉 The signer’s experience 👉 The client 👉 Future opportunities 👉 What do you consider a valid last-minute cancellation? 👀 Let’s talk 👇

Signature on ID vs docs
I had a question the other day relating to this post so it caught my attention. What say you on this matter? In my situation the name on the ID and docs were the same so I let him sign as he had on his ID despite the lack of middle name reflecting in the signature itself.i should say my docs were accepted but i did have to think it through.
Signature on ID vs docs

Hi Chrystal, this is a very good question. Signers are supposed to sign documents using their legal signature, meaning the signature they normally use and the one that corresponds with their ID. Otherwise, it could be interpreted as simply printing their name, which technically anyone could do. I completely understand why this can be confusing. Many companies include instructions saying documents must be signed EXACTLY as the name appears typed on the signature line, and that creates a lot of confusion, especially for new notaries. At the beginning of my career, I handled it the same way you did because I followed those instructions literally. The documents were rejected, and the signer had to re-sign them. Since then, I’ve always instructed signers to sign the way they normally sign, and I have never had an issue or rejection because of it. I actually cover this topic in detail inside the paid version of the course, including situations involving POAs, trust verbiage, AKA names, and similar signature variations. This is also the standard we follow at The Closing Signing Service. Here’s an example of how our instructions address this situation: Legal signature only Signers must sign using their legal signature exactly as it appears on their government-issued ID (typically a driver’s license). Printed names are not acceptable in place of a signature.

@Chrystal Baker 💯 that requirement doesn’t make any sense, when you sign legal documents you use your legal signature, well when you’re signing mortgage documents you are signing legal documents 👌
