YouTube isn't too crowded. Most people just give up.
Here's something worth remembering when doubt creeps in. 2.7 billion people use YouTube every month. But only around 4.4% of them actually create and upload videos. And of those who do start, 70% go quiet within the first six months. That means the vast majority of your "competition" has already walked away. You don't need to be the best creator in your niche. You just need to outlast the ones who quit. If you're still here, still posting, still improving, you're already in a small minority. The platform isn't oversaturated. It's underlived. What's kept you going past the point where most people stop?

I’m one that pulled away. Not because of the grind, because of AI. @Des Dreckett when we spoke the intrepid insecurity I was feeling was not there as it is now. I’ve known quite a few people whose videos have been hacked or stolen plus you can’t always tell the difference between people putting in the work or AI. My position in life is a bit different from others. I love YouTube but will figure out where to put my energy. I am always here to support and cheer everyone on and when a channel interests me, I subscribe 😊
Finally, a bit of consistency!
I started my YouTube channel in 2021. During the first six months, I consistently uploaded a new video every week. Then I made a mistake and stopped creating content—but I didn’t give up. In May 2023, I made a fresh start. Since then, I’ve published more than 160 videos on my German channel. A few months ago, I launched an English education channel together with a team. We release a new lesson every Monday. One week ago, I also committed to posting one short every day, and the results are already visible. I’m now reaching nearly 2,000 views almost every single day. This journey has shown me that consistency and persistence truly pay off—and it’s only the beginning.
Finally, a bit of consistency!

Congratulations!
Humour helps healing
Yesterday I launched a short joke series, on my German channel, titled “Humour Helps Healing – Today Laughed Already.” Every day there will be a new joke. My first video was phenomenal, reaching 1,891 views. Let’s see where this takes me in a year.

Imagine all the people you lifted up with a great belly laugh 😊
Is anyone else getting a barrage of hate?
I'm so discouraged. I get 9 hateful comments out of every 10 each day, it's become exhausting. Here I am, creating content to help people, spending my time for free, spending my own money, not making a penny and people are just so utterly mean and nasty. I get called names on a regular basis and some things that I can't even say aloud. Is it just me? I know to block and hide user from channel and all of that but when you look at your comments and truly, I just counted, every single comment between today and yesterday except 1 was over-the-top hateful ---it really makes me feel like giving up.

@Kimberly Anne as I’m sure you know, there is a housing shortage in Portugal, especially the larger cities. Globally, many people are moving there because of affordability regardless of political views. If you moved there and discuss politics I guess it’s up for discussion. I think this local woman is a bit disgruntled because of the population growth in her country. We have Brazilian friends who moved to a town outside of the Algarve region and are happy because there’s no jealousy and more housing is available. Portugal pay system is still very suppressed ($800 a month?) unless you’re in a service industry. They are struggling in the same way many others are. Rudeness is upsetting no matter the situation.

@Kimberly Anne 100%. Never a reason to be rude. Can you block them?
