Did alittle updating on the front end today

Stayed up late last night and finished the driver-side bracket mock-up — and I’m seriously loving how it turned out. Yeah, it’s a little bulky, but it has to be. This bracket drops the shackle under the frame, ties into the body mount, and adds strength where these K5 frames really need it. We’re running a factory-length rear style HD shackle up front (around 4–4.5”), hoping the shorter design keeps side-to-side deflection down and helps stability. The 3-inch leaf springs might be soft, but we’ll know more once it’s on its own weight. If needed, I’ll add a leaf. Still gotta measure pinion shim angle once everything is sitting right. Bracket #1 is done — onto the passenger side next. What do you guys think of this setup so far?

One of my main projects. 1976 k20 crew cab short bed, custom flatbed, 4” lift, 52” springs up front, 56” springs in the back, has a sbc 350 th400 in it now but is in the process of getting a 6.0 and 4l80e.

Got the frame stripped. The cab mounts off. The cfm front hanger installed and the 3” Wide 57” Front springs mocked Up. Now we’re starting on designing a mount that hangs under the frame and gives a standard shackle mount for more stability. And gonna strengthen the mount area of the frame as well.
