Why are you learning another language Make it dramatic Make it stupid Make it unhinged 😂 I'll go first :)

Hello, my name is Matt and I am learning Polish. My wife is Polish and it would be great to be able to have proper conversations with her side of the family. Poland has great food, one of my favourites is a soup called Zurek that it traditionally eaten at Eastertime so not long to wait for that. It is best described as a Full English Breakfast in soup form! I am a musician so sort of used to learning in a language based way but I haven't fully managed to crack the Polish. . . yet!

𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞: "Learning a new language is like becoming another person." — Haruki Murakami 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐭: When you learn a new language you want to always start by focusing on the most important words that you will use and not on stuff like " The elephant is brown" (Looking at u duolingo😁) You want to focus on verbs that you can use daily and say to yourself like I am (Verb) I like (Verb or object), I want to walk etc STUFF that you actually need!! And I realised that i went from learnign languages in 8-10 months to 3-5 months PS: the language learning call is tommorow check the calendar

I have tried literally every single possible technique, strategy, app, movie, show etc EVERYTHING to learn a language and after like 4-5 years I found the best system to learn any language quickly and in a very effective way The 3rd component of the system is the one that changed my language learning and enabled me to learn languages so quick (We will get to that a bit later) And its a simple 3 step system The first component is Input This is not very specific but its anything that you can listen, see or consume This could be a YouTube video, SRS, a movie… the list goes on but that’s the basics And of course this has to be customised to your language learning level, your language learning Style and your true motivations behind learning your desired language but I will talk more about that on the next Group call But its basically immersing yourself in that environment The second component of the system is output This is anything that YOU create and its simple It can be you saying something, you writing something Shadowing is an example of output, Story speaking is also an example, Language roulette, Grass touching videos, just you SPEAKING it as much as you can And I will probably introduce a daily session of studying where we can have conversations and practice our Output but anyways you can pretty much do this anywhere and its very powerful Your ratio from input to output should be 1:2. This means if you have a 1 hour study session focus on 20 minutes of input and 40 minutes of output And the third and last component of the 3 step system is a Feedback loop If you create output and you have nobody correcting or checking your pronunciation it will be STUCK that way. That is where the Gringo accent came from you say a word too many times wrong and it gets stuck like that THAT is exactly why its the most important part of learning language I have seen so many people that went 3 years on Duolingo and then their accent is absolutely horrible And the best place to get a feedback loop is with a real authentic person and that is exactly why I created this community
