Process wins!
Just wanted to share what following the process looks like! If people in here are on the fence about making this their full time job, I made the jump in early March to go full time into this. We had our first baby in October and my wife was very skeptical/nervous, dare I say excited, about the whole idea of me quitting. I have been bouncing between jobs about every 8-10 months, and this last job was 90k salary with killer benefits, but I was battling depression, low energy, and just wasn’t myself. I sat down with my wife, showed her my plan, and I went all in. In Austin’s starter scorecard I had a goal of my first 3 months going 10, 20, 30k in revenue. Currently, around 3 weeks into April I will hit 60k in revenue, which is 6 weeks ahead of my plan. Long story short, it works. I look in this group every day for motivation and I see some great people doing amazing things. Asking questions. Taking feedback. Moving forward. Generating results. @Austin Gray ’s community here is fantastic, and I can’t help but feel thankful and alive this Easter weekend! I feel that we are all hard nosed, hard working individuals, and I pray that we all find peace, success and something to pour our work ethic into! Big things coming in 2026 for this group!

@Jt Mahon nice! Can I ask how you went about getting equipment? Did you start out renting or owning?

@Jt Mahon got it. Thank you!
Competition survey.
On one of the other Ownr Ops pages I was reading they recommend seeing how many other companies offer forestry mulching / fire mitigation, as a service, with 50 miles of your location. How many of you did this and what did you find? I'm trying to figure out if my area is oversaturated. Thanks in advance.

@Josh Reaper when you tested the market were you renting equipment? How far do you schedule jobs out?

@Josh Reaper right on! I agree the cost is outrageous to rent. If I have to bite the bullet and do that early will but I’m with you, if I can get the work scheduled out I will take the leap and buy equipment as soon as possible. Once I get my ads rolling I can gauge how much work is out there in my area better.
Quoting and time
Do you guys have any insight on how long it takes to complete a job? For example standard forestry mulching setup for 1 acre? Nothing crazy, pretty flat. How long would this take? I’m trying to gauge this mainly because I will be renting equipment early on and want to make sure I can quote properly to still produce revenue. Bottom line is I don’t want to quote a job at 3k and have a setup for a day when a day rental cost $1900 just to not be able to finish it and have to rent another day and lose my butt. Thanks for any insight. Matt

@James Louros Haha well I wouldn’t shy away from the extra experience. If I break even early on that’s fine. Just want to get the quality of the service down. The two dealerships I’ve dealt with locally which is central Indiana is a CAT 299 with a Fecon head. The other was a bobcat I believe a 770. Anyway, that is the goal is trying to just get some reps in but was curious if there was a general time guys use to estimate an acre or so. Thanks for the help! God bless!
2wk Update.. I resigned from my W-2 😱
2nd Week Business Update! TL:DR Metrics Ad Spend $400.67 Leads total - 18 CPL - $30.12 Closed - 4 Sales - $8,300 🙏✨️ Potential Client of 40 Acres And my current client waiting for me to do the 1 Acre job before giving me his 9 acre property to do! Long story short, by the grace of God I quit my job today. I promised them I'll finish my 12 hr shift and I resigned. I love the people I worked with, I really do. But I love my family more and I had shifts that switched to days then evenings then back to days and it seemed very unstable for my family's schedule. Also I have made more money for my family in 2 weeks worth of business than a job has ever given me! The goal now is to reach capacity where I can focus on my next 3 steps: 1. Buy basic equipment (chain saw, cutter, chipper) + rent forestry mulcher 2. Work 4 days and have 1 day estimates / admin 3. Buy the forestry mulcher (Kubota + loftness) Ive been so dependent on the Lord these past 2 weeks of business because he has really showed me his Glory and his greatness time after time and I needed to see him work in this in my weakness, and as always he shows up! Praise the Lord oh My Soul! How did quitting your job go over when you jumped full time? And how was the change?

So did you close these before you even purchased equipment? Looking for advise on how to do this as I’m in that current situation. No equipment but wanting to start building the brand.

Welcome to OWNR OPS 🤝 If you own a land clearing or forestry business and you want to stay booked out weeks in advance with profitable jobs using simple systems, not shiny objects, you’re in the right place. This group and trainings are built around my simple operating system - Revamp your pricing so you generate profit on every job - Make the phone ring consistently with a simple 3‑Step Lead Engine - Track a simple weekly scorecard so you know if you’re winning or losing and exactly what to fix next I use this same playbook in my own $1.4M land clearing / forestry business and it’s what guys like Colby used to go from roughly $400k to $850k while staying 4–8 weeks booked out. Step 1 – Introduce yourself (do this now) Comment below with: - Your name - Where you’re based - What kind of work you do now (land clearing, forestry, fire mitigation, etc.) - How many weeks you’re currently booked out - Use the photo template I posted Step 2 – Unlock the Free Kickstarter Training Go to the Classroom tab and follow the steps to unlock the “Free Kickstarter Training" Video series module In it, you’ll learn how you can copy the simple operating system behind my 7 figure business: - Revamp your pricing so every crew‑day makes profit - Build a 3‑Step Lead Engine (how to make the phone ring) - Use a weekly scorecard to see if you’re winning or losing and what to fix next week Watch these lessons this week so the livestreams & posts inside here actually click. Step 3 – Book Your OPS Onboarding Call If you want my eyes on your numbers and a clear plan to stay booked out weeks in advance with profitable jobs, book an OPS Onboarding call here: 👉 [Book Onboarding Call] On that call we’ll: - Look at your current revenue, backlog, and weeks booked out - Find the biggest bottleneck in your business - See if you’re a fit for OPS Training, my weekly training program for land clearing and forestry owners

1. My Name is Matt Lohrey 2. Location: Central Indiana 3. We sell land clearing and forestry mulching services. 4. We do Z Revenue: $0 in revenue. Just starting 5. I would like to be at W Revenue: initial goal 20k/month. Long term goal 200k/year. 6. This is what’s stopping me: So I am in the early early stages of this thing. I have a brand and a Facebook page. That is about it. I’m still getting over the hurdle trying to figure out how to obtain equipment to do a job. The first initial quote I got for renting equipment was around $2,600 (with delivery) I’m still trying to figure out how to make that work and profitable. I also work a full time job already but it is flexible.
