Today’s lesson: STOP Waiting for Scouts. One of the biggest mistakes young keepers (and parents) make is waiting, hoping, and praying for a scout to magically show up at their local grassroots game. Could it happen? Yes. But DO NOT WAIT. Instead, you need to sell yourself. Find the names of the academy decision-makers and coaches online. Email them. Write letters. Find their socials and DM them! From age 13 until I signed pro at 18, I contacted EVERY professional club in the UK, at least twice a year. And guess what? Even though I never played for a pro academy as a kid, I still signed for Everton FC at 18. Why? Because they knew my name before they even saw me play. Putting yourself out there gives you an massive advantage. But a quick word of warning: contacting clubs only works if you are working your socks off physically and mentally every single day so you are actually ready when the door opens. Guys, thoughts on the new J4K 3G Gripcore. I have not changed too much from the 3G Techno's from last season, as they were such a popular glove We changed the back hand design adding more protection against the hard 3g turf surfaces when landing and getting up - there is also a larger punching zone... The palm is the same - as this had amazing feedback - so no point changing. We also changed the glove backhand fabric for a more breathable material - while still trying to make sure this glove is the most durable glove on the market for artificial and hard/dry surfaces. While importantly, keeping the grip on the palm just as good as our other J4K palms.

This is a comment I hear alot and was once asked by a coach "how do i help a goalkeeper kick better" on a UEFA C course.....well its actually simpler than it sounds. BUT it requires patience. The first thing you have to remember is that most kids aren't physically strong enough in the right areas of the lower body to achieve the desired outcome. Secondly you have to pay attention to the technique and ball flight. Start small. With the appropriate sized ball get the keeper to chip the ball into your hands over a distance of 12 yards. This will install confidence and allow easier practice repetition. Build up the distance in sensible increments until max power/control is achieved. Bare in mind that it may not be very far at first.
