Best Tool to Design Architecture
Hey everyone, I'm looking for the simplest yet most effective tool for creating architectural block diagrams with Fabric and Azure elements. I usually use Draw.io, but it has limitations when it comes to Fabric icons. Any recommendations?

Not really a direct answer to your question but Sam Debruyn has fabric icons available in PNG and SVG formats on his site that I have found useful. https://debruyn.dev/2024/all-microsoft-fabric-icons-for-diagramming/
Introducing ownership takeover for Fabric items(!)
Big news! Microsoft introduce Take Over feature for Fabric items: https://blog.fabric.microsoft.com/en-US/blog/introducing-ownership-takeover-for-fabric-items/ This has been one of the big challenges in managing Fabric in an enterprise environment to date. When the creator/ owner of your Fabric items leaves your company, it was previously very difficult to re-assign the ownership of their items.

Data Pipeline running as incorrect user
Hi all, we have an issue on one of our data pipelines where it seems to be stuck running under a single users' credentials. We use a service account to trigger the pipeline, and the service account has contributor access to the workspace. However, we get an error "Lakehouse failed for forbidden which may be caused by user account or service principal doesn't have enough permission to access Lakehouse". The run is submitted successfully by the service account, and all other aspects of the pipeline are successful, other than writing to the lakehouse. The "Run by" details on ALL run history shows only my colleagues username. I think this is where things are falling down, as our personal accounts have access automatically removed at the end of each day (hence the use of the service account). Other pipelines writing to other lakehouses in the same workspace are successful using the same service account, and correctly show the service account in the "Run by" details. I'm about to submit a MS support ticket but wondering if anyone here has had a similar issue. Cheers, Mark

@Anthony Kain yes, it seems stuck. I saw Microsofts announcement yesterday about ownership Take Over now being available, so am hoping having the service account take over will solve some of these issues.
enterprise cost control
Does MS Fabric have something like the Azure well architected framework on best practice? I'm trying to figure out, how to leverage this in a business with multiple depts, each with their own cost centres and controls. From what I can see (could be wrong) that it appears dept would manage their respective workspaces and capacity.

Fabric CI/CD sample repository (by Microsoft)
Read more here: >>> Click here to see the sample GitHub repo From the repo: - This repo contains a code sample for establishing a CI/CD process for Microsoft Fabric workspaces. - The code is intended to be used as a jump-start for a new project on Microsoft Fabric. - At present, the code has several limitations; however, the objective is to continuously improve its capabilities in sync with the advancements of Fabric.

@Will Needham, I'm not versed in Azure, and will be looking at implementing our Fabric instance using the online service side of things rather than via API code as per this repo. What are your thoughts on this? Should I be concentrating on getting it up and working first, anyway, anyhow, and then just come back to learning the code later? What are some good learning resources for this side of "Azure" side of Fabric?
