Breaking the habit
Ok this May I am going to work on breaking the habit of picking up after my kids, and I feel it's helpful to say what you are going to do instead, so instead I am going to take the time to get them to pick up after themselves more which often takes more of my time :p but will be worth it

Yes I am joining in! I am doing my own practice as it is hard for me to join in the group session but this is a good motivator to do this everyday which is really helpful :)
Hi Guys... I'm Arthur 😀
I am a new member here and looking forward to watching this space grow. I live in Noosaville on the Sunshine Coast, I am a truck driver by day and a passionate mental health ambassador all the time. I have had an interesting journey to my current status of self connection, it took a lot of work and a lot of pain to get here but heres the short version of my journey. I loved football (soccer), watching it, playing it, talking about it and then one day at 15 that stopped. The passion died overnight. Over the next few months I found myself losing friends, isolating myself and becoming disinterested in everything. My grades slipped and I ultimately was fully disconnected. My mum took me to the doctors and I was diagnosed with depression with suicidal tendencies. 2 options... Medication or Therapy. I chose the latter. Thats where the journey starts. I noticed patterns, I'd fall in the dark hole everytime I achieved something. Finishing School, Achieving a career milestone, getting engaged, getting married, building a house, finishing uni. These big milestones felt like a journey up a mountain only for me to jump off back into the dark hole. I needed something to focus on, to stay busy and aligned, and when my marriage ended, partly because of my own mental health challenges 15 years after being diagnosed my world crumbled, well it completely collapsed. That's where my self-healing journey started. 2 books, 1 epic adventure and reconnecting with myself, others and my purpose. Im here to grow, learn and connect. Peace and Love Arthur

@Arthur Maddocks-Brown Hi Arthur nice to meet you and thanks for sharing, I still haven't made it to Noosaville but it's on the list!
Co-Working Is Here!
Happy to announce that we are adding co-working sessions to the community. If you are working from home and struggling to stay focused, need accountability or a bit of body doubling to get things done, join in. We start with a quick check-in, then settle into 50 minutes of focused work time. Cameras on is recommended, mics muted. We are starting small with limited times, but am happy to expand with interest - let me know some times that you would like! The idea for coworking came from @Freddi Saleeba & @Maria Phillips, they regularly catch up for sessions and wanted to extend it out. We figured that this would be a good space for it :)

December Self-Care Challenge - Staying Sane This Festive Season!
If you are like me, December can be pretty overwhelming with all the commitments and catchups on top of regular life. I love it, but if I don't take the time to rest and recover, I burn out. So rather than go through that cycle again, I've decided to preemptively implement some self-care and I am inviting you to do the same (making it a challenge to keep us all accountable to one another... and more importantly ourselves)! HOW TO JOIN THE DECEMBER SELF-CARE CHALLANGE: Pick one small act of self-care you can do every day to stay grounded and regulated. Something that feels nourishing, simple, and doable. eg: - Music - Reading - Take a bath - Meditation - Nature walk - Exercise - Cup of tea - Journaling Or choose something you’ll cut back on this month to ease the pressure. When you’ve chosen your practice, comment below and let us know what you’re committing to and why! I will keep this post pinned until new year!

Yes! This is a great idea! Avoiding burn out over the holiday season is so important. I think for me I will try to not say yes to every possible outing and actually take downtime in between events which can be hard to organise in December!
