Somewhere between practicing and learning. I have a PDC (design certificate) but since we moved to Portugal and I don’t have my own (or community) land yet, I have been practicing small things where I am. But having said that, a PDC just highlights how little you know and how much there is to learn - so I think it is an ongoing learning journey (like life I guess)

@Emil Moldovan I would love to but I haven’t have enough experience growing in this climate yet. What I do know is that your water storage/harvesting strategy during winter needs to be super efficient to cater for a really dry and extremely hot summer - and that’s about it 🤣. But this is a good nudge to start doing more studying and research on it here - so if you are willing to wait for when I’m ready then it would be great!
The Space in Between
Have you ever felt stuck, like the distance between where you are and where you want to be is too vast to cross? I want to remind you that this space in between is not empty. It is a growth opportunity, a hidden laboratory where transformation quietly unfolds. Even if progress feels slow or invisible, it does not mean nothing is happening. This reminds me of an ice cube slowly melting in the sun. At first, it seems frozen, rigid, unchanging, but underneath the surface, molecules are shifting, rearranging, and preparing for fluidity. Change is happening at a pace you may not notice yet, but it is happening. In life, we often rush to the next milestone or become frustrated by what seems like stagnation. Yet the real work often occurs in these silent, unseen moments. Your awareness, your reflection, your choices, and even your waiting are all part of the process. What if you allowed yourself to embrace this in-between space? To honor the small shifts, the subtle movements, and the quiet growth happening beneath the surface? Pause for reflection: - What small signs of change are happening in your life right now that you might be overlooking? - How can you honor the journey, not just the destination? - When have you experienced growth in ways you could not immediately see or measure? By reflecting on these questions, you open yourself to noticing what is quietly unfolding beneath the surface. The space in between is not empty. It is fertile ground where transformation takes root silently yet powerfully. The space in between is not a void. It is the fertile ground where transformation quietly takes root.

This is beautiful, thank you for sharing. Reflecting on your post, I recently (about 2 months ago) quit my corporate job (not planned). My husband and I decided that we have enough for me to do what I wanted since before I fell pregnant, which is be a full time mom to my 3 year old daughter. Being a mom has been immensely hard work for me personally, and there are days still where I think to myself - that is going to causing some childhood trauma for my daughter. I have to remind myself of this concept - I'm not where I want to be (yet), but I have come a long way! This month I can honestly say we play and laugh a lot more than we have in the past. I have also had days where I can remain present in my body, and then I can remain calm and not get triggered. There are days where this all flops and I completely fall on my face, but I think it is so easy to get hung up in that space of "yup failed again" that you forget to think that you may have made a mistake today, but there has been lots of successes the previous days, and maybe there is something to take away from today's mistake to set yourself up for more success the next time something like this happens.

My daughter loves blueberries. She eats them as is, I use mine mostly in a morning smoothie. We also make healthy blueberry muffins but whenever she gets those she thinks it is her birthday :D. My favourite is blackberries. And my daughter also found out quickly the dogs love blueberries and I had to teach her very quickly that she cannot feed them a whole container :D.
Home Kitchen 🏠 vs. Restaurant Plate 🍽️: Where Do Your Standards Shift?
Ever notice how your standards for food quality can change depending on where you're eating? 🤔 At home 🥕, you might insist on organic veggies, high-quality oils, and knowing every single ingredient. At a restaurant 🍛, sometimes convenience or the experience takes priority. ✨ I'm curious: Where do you draw your lines? 🧐 * Do you always ask about the oil they cook with? 🔥 * Is organic or local sourcing 🌱 a non-negotiable for you, even when eating out? * Or do you consciously relax your standards to fully enjoy the social experience? 🥳 Share your thoughts below—let's uncover our collective food principles! 👇 #FoodStandards #ConsciousEating #Nutrition #HealthyHabits #FoodCulture

@Emil Moldovan I am aware that there are communities but haven’t been able to connect. My daughter is only 3.5 now and takes up all my time (as well as 4 dogs that still need loads of training to settle after immigrating). For now I’m feeling myself through a recent “corporate job quilter” to find myself and where I want to focus. Self-directed education is a big thing for me so most of my spare energy goes into that right now. Having said that, the Portugal network is small and I am sure it will cross my path pretty soon!

@Emil Moldovan it’s interesting you bring up the nervous system because I have been doing tons of work to start getting my high functioning anxious nervous system to a place of rest
