🌿 The Practical Art of Living "Otherwise": A Day with some experiments
Ever wonder what it looks like to truly live *with* nature, not just *in* it? It’s a little "otherwise" than the normal lifestyle. It's not about reading a recipe, buying ingredients, and cooking. It's a reverse process: 1. Find what's edible and abundant around you. 2. Harvest with gratitude and care. 3. Create with what you have. 4. Preserve & Repurpose every part. Today's Story: I harvested wild mangoes and rose apples (pomarosa). Here’s what happened: ➡️ The Juice: Extracted for flavor and vitality. ➡️ The "Ice": Combined with more mango and blackberries into tasty and nutrition-rich popsicles. ➡️ The Seeds: Being ready for replanting. ➡️ The Pomace (pulp leftovers): Will likely be fermented into a vinegar. It’s one simple harvest transformed into multiple, zero-waste creations. The "recipe" was written by what the land offered today. I’d love to know: What’s one wild or locally abundant ingredient you’ve been curious to work with? *Below are some photos of the harvest and a short video of the process. This is the practical art of sustainable living.*

Healthy Dessert Recipe
If you like Chocolate and enjoy putting together healthy desserts, this No-Bake Chocolate Orange Tart is borderline Amazing! You can print out the picture to get the recipe, if you want it. It’s from the Food Matters Cookbook. I did add a quarter cup of maple syrup to the chocolate filling in the middle, since it might be too bitter with just the chocolate powder in there. If your family is anything like mine, this dessert will be “too weird” for them since it’s not a traditional pie. And then there will be more for you! Win/win :) What is your favorite healthy dessert? What do you consider to be a healthy dessert? I consider a dessert healthy if it contains real foods like fruits or veggies, good fiber, good fat, real ingredients, and minimal or no processed sweeteners and flours.

No-Bake Vegan Fudge
I discussed this in one of the post threads here, so for the sake of completion and clarity, I think I should post it all here: Mix: 1 cup of coconut oil (usually the thick or solid kind) 1 cup cashew butter 1/2 cup organic cocoa 1/4 maple syrup Put in 8x8 pan, or pie plate, or whatever you have Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set. Cut into squares of the desired size. Enjoy. Keep refrigerated.
