Where Do You Fall?
TAKING ACTION: ✅Post pics of your Color Challenge in the comments! ✅Where do you fall when it comes to eating candy or sweets? Are you able to practice proactive discipline and only enjoy a few pieces, or do you keep eating it once you start? Speaking of sugar, I often see other coaches advising their clients in one of two ways when it comes to eating the Halloween candy that’s lining the grocery aisles right now ⬇️ 👉 Don’t eat the candy 👉 Enjoy a few pieces of candy The problem is that—it’s not that simple. There are nuances that we need to factor in. It’s important to first understand your unique cravings, body, and thoughts. What works for me may not work for you—and that’s okay! For example, some people do better by allowing themselves to enjoy some of their favorite foods because complete restriction does more harm than good. On the other hand, complete restriction from certain foods may be the best option for some due to the fact that they can’t stop eating said food once they start. The question you need to ask yourself is, “Where do I fall regarding this?” If you feel as though you need complete restriction around a certain food, don’t let that get you down. The reality is that while it feels tough to swallow right now, your taste buds and your brain will change. 💯 Ultimately, the answer to the question above is unique to you and your ability to control your sugar intake.

I’m kinda like @Bobbi Varney in that I have very addictive tendencies combined with a VERY defiant nature. My best bet is full restriction most of the time. I basically just don’t buy the sweet things anymore. Coke used to be my downfall. And now I can’t even tell you the last time I drank one. If I’m other places that have sweets around, I can indulge and move on. It’s just best for me not to even have them in my own home though.

@Aleiah Barker I couldn’t agree more. Only sometimes now do the sweet cravings creep in and I find other ways to combat them bc I literally have nothing sweet in my house to tempt me. I did even try the 100% maple syrup in my coffee this morning .. WHILE indulging in my new favorite thing … sitting outside in first light … AND IT’S DOABLE! 😍😍😍
Too much 100% Maple Syrup 🤪
If my sweet Grammaw Bessie was with me right now, she would say, “Jent, baby, ya shuga is low.” My family calls me Jen - she called me Jent. 🤣 After last night’s zoom, I decided to fix my coffee differently this morning. I usually use hot oatmilk, honey, and a splash of 100% Maple Syrup. This morning I used just 100% Maple Syrup and evvvvv-idently I used too much trying to make it taste right. 🤪 I think it was about 30 minutes after the coffee that I started to shake, sweat, and feel kinda weak. I sat down and ate a few bites of oatmeal - it went away. Lesson learned.

I’m sitting outside with my first cup using 100% maple syrup instead of Italian Sweet Cream Coffeemate and I think I can actually do this! 😍
Training your hair
Can somebody explain “training your hair” to me? 🤣 I hear women say they’ve trained theirs to go days without washing, but every other day is my limit! How does that work? Does your hair actually get less oily over time?

Wonderful Wednesday
I realized how far I’ve come mentally when on Monday morning I woke up to the news my mawmaw was gone. My last living grandparent, the one who I loved like a mommy. The one who loved me unconditionally and made sure I knew it. I went straight to the gym and worked out. Everyone has been shocked that I’ve been there daily since, but it’s the place I run to when life is heavy, This is to remind all of you to keep going. Show up for yourself. The girl who joined this platform 2 years ago would not done this love y’all Most definitely keep me in prayer my heart is broken

I feel this to my core. My grandmother was that same person for me. I sometimes thought she was the only person in my world who truly GOT me. When I would “vent” to her about something in my life, she listened. JUST listened. Didn’t try to tell me what I needed to do differently. Didn’t try to tell me how to fix it. Just .. listened. And being heard is one of life’s most treasured blessings, in my opinion. Prayers for you, my friend. Many many prayers. Treasure those memories. They will pull you through. 🥰
