🍝Favorite meal to cook: Spaghetti 🍝 From being a kid and eating with no shirt on to avoid stains, to my cool older brother cooking for me when I was a teen (he's 9 years older), to being a new broke mom, to now. I love Spaghetti. Mom always put sauce with mushrooms in it and I'd have a pile of tiny pieces of mushrooms on my plate because the texture weirded me out. My brother added pepper flakes and spiced it up. Me as a new mom could only afford the noodles and sauce, meat was a luxury that was just not always in the budget. Now, I just do whatever tickles my fancy for the day. I love that you can change the whole meal by changing a couple ingredients. You can use regular pasta, protein pasta, gluten free. Sauce choices are just unlimited. We often do Rao's sensitive marinara because it seems to cut down on heartburn for the kid and hubs. Add ground beef or chicken or sausage or meatballs or not but at least you're getting more protein when you do! I sometimes add a can of diced tomatoes to the sauce. Sometimes a sprinkle of sugar because that's how my husband's grandma made it. I do not add mushrooms (even though I like them now, my 5 year old self would be disappointed). I will say I estimate when I eat spaghetti. I don't put my meat and sauce separate. So weights/amounts may vary slightly but I at least have an estimate on my macros for the meal.
