Hello!
Hey everyone! I'm Christie Grace, and I call the stunning Bowen Island, just 20 minutes from Vancouver, BC, my home. I've been an islander for 27 years. I wear many hats as a Silver, Song, and Soulsmith—artist, musician, coach, and goldsmith/jeweler. And proud mom! I've over 30 years in the jewelry trade, I've been singing professionally for as long as I can remember. A decade ago, amidst some serious health challenges, I began my coaching journey to help myself heal. While recovering and keeping my business going, I co-creatively healed myself along the way while helping others too. I earned certification in Transformational Life and Health Coaching from the Health Coach Institute of America and have been coaching every since. Last Spring I graduated from Breath Masters, and have been loving how the addition of conscious breath medicine to my coaching really accelerates people healing process. As professional singer I've been using my breath for vocal tone which expanded into I therapeutic breath work in my 30's. I'll soon be 68. I'm excited to trial my first 5-Day Breath Challenge in a week, despite having a ton still to prepare! Having healed through a lot of trauma over my entire lifetime, I've found the 1% philosophy of 1% change so effective. I'm flat out right now so I will be slow in responding yet just wanted to reach out, say and and introduce myself. Blessings from the west coast rain forest!

Dear @Christie Grace Callister, Thank you for introducing yourself in The 1% Club Community. I have been in Vancouver twice and I loved it. I haven’t visited Bowen Island but I reckon it must be beautiful. And being ‘an Islander’ must be special. We have a few islands in our tiny country of The Netherlands. And it always feels magical when I go there. I feel more connected with nature and more grounded. And that is what The 1% Club is all about. We take a long term perspective on life. And consider our life in a holistic, integrated and connected way. First the connection with our thoughts, our bodies and our feelings and then the connection with the world around us. We find answers and guidance inside rather than outside ourselves. We take full responsibility for everything in our life, as if we chose it. And we understand that being responsible means being able to respond. We cannot control what happens outside us, but we can control how we respond to what happens. And that is powerful. In that sense, it is an antidote to the hectic, short term focused take on life that seems to dominate the media today. And that tends to victimize us and make us powerless. We seek to develop and express our full potential and see the world as abundant. We are grateful for what we have and give and love unconditionally. I am happy to have you in our community and I look forward to joining you in your journey through life for as long as you choose to be part of this group. Thank you for your contribution here.

@Christie Grace Callister Thank you. I like it too, to be a small pod. Having said that, I’d like for this community to expand with like-minded individuals from all over the world, who share a holistic, long term approach to life. And who feel inspired to be open in sharing their wisdom and life experience. And who like to support others in developing and expressing their full potential for the betterment of others and the world as a whole. Thank you for being a pioneer.
A lack of self-awareness is poison. Reflection and review is the antidote.
- The upside of habits is that we can do things without thinking. The downside is that we stop paying attention to little errors. - Habits + Deliberate Practice = Mastery - Reflection and review is a process that allows you to remain conscious of your performance over time. - The tighter we cling to an identity, the harder it becomes to grow beyond it. What do you guys think?

I fully agree @Garrett Syverson. People are creatures of habit. How we do anything is how we do everything. Our habitual behaviors reinforce our beliefs about ourselves and about the world. And confirmation bias reassures us that ‘we are right’. In order to break our habit loops and get to the next level in our lives, we first need to become conscious of these patterns of thought and behaviors. Only then can we stat making different choices and slowly build momentum through focused action, or deliberate practice as you call it. Or ‘awakened doing’ to refer to the term Eckart Tolle uses. And there are different strategies that work, dependent on our personality: we can think our way into new and better behaviors or we can act our way into new thinking. Especially for those of us who tend to live in out heads and struggle to turn our thinking into focused action, the latter strategy can be helpful. Rather than over analyzing to find the best action it may be more effective to just do something. To take one small action. And then course correct. A rocket doesn’t fly to the moon in a straight line. It course corrects all the time. Progress, not perfection. The best decision is the right one. The second best decision is the wrong one. And the third best decision is no decision. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts @Garrett Syverson
Just finished reading 101 Questions to Ask Before You Get Engaged and wrote down the most  thought-provoking ones:
- What are my core values and principles? What is most important to me in life? - What legacy do I want to leave behind in this world? How do I want to be remembered? - Am I living a purpose-driven life? What gives my life meaning and fulfillment? - How can I continue growing into the best version of myself? What areas do I need to develop? - Who has had the biggest influence on my life so far? What have they taught me? What do you think?

I like it very much @Garrett Syverson. Thank you for sharing. There is so much talk online discussing get rich wuick schemes that are short term focused, tactical and unbalanced when it comes to allocating time and energy. Although this approach may bear some fruit it is not a sustainable strategy to living your life to the fullest. Life is more like a marathon than a sprint. When we forget to ask the big questions, it is unlikely that we will find fulfillment from our short term (financial) success. And we risk compromising our health or key relationships in favor of success in one category of life. I therefore propose a more holistic, strategic approach to life where we ask ourself the big questions like you are referring to and seek to maintain a balance across all life dimensions including our health, our relationships, our finances, our profession and our dreams to develop and express our full potential. This builds resilience and fosters lifelong growth and fulfillment. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. 🙏🏻
