Reminder for Those Who Fear (Qur’an 20:3)
﴿إِلَّا تَذْكِرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰ﴾ (20:3) “Except as a reminder for those who fear (God).” “Reminder” (tadhkira) means the recalling of something forgotten into the mind. Indeed, belief in divine oneness (tawḥīd) is firmly rooted in human nature (fiṭrah), while associating partners with God contradicts it. Thus, the call to Islam is a reminder of what is already within the natural disposition, or a reminder of the religion of Abraham, peace be upon him. — Ibn Ashur (16/185)

False Hopes in Other Than Allah
“And they have taken besides Allah other gods so that they might be for them a source of honor. No! They will deny their worship and will be against them.” — (Qur’an 19:81–82) Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) said: “A servant does not attach his hope and reliance to other than Allah إلا he will be disappointed from that direction; and he does not seek support from other than Allah إلا he will be abandoned.”

Every Breath Is Counted
“So do not hasten against them. We are only counting for them a numbered count.” — Qur'an, Surah Maryam 19:84 It is narrated that Al-Ma'mun once recited this surah and, when he reached this verse, a group of jurists were with him. He then signaled with his head to Ibn al-Sammak to give them an admonition. So Ibn al-Sammak said: “If breaths are numbered, and they are given no extension, how quickly they will run out.” And it was said in poetry about this meaning: Your life is but breaths being counted; whenever A breath passes from you, a part of you diminishes. That which gives you life each night is what brings you closer to death, Driven forward by a driver who intends no jest. And Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) would cry when he recited this verse and say: “The end of the count: the departure of your soul. The end of the count: your separation from your family. The end of the count: your entering the grave.”
Blessing or Gradual Deception? The True Measure of Divine Favor
“Say: Whoever is in misguidance—the Most Merciful will extend for him an extension (of respite) until, when they see what they were promised—either the punishment or the Hour—then they will know who is worse in position and weaker in forces.” — From the Qur’an, Qur'an (19:75) Explanation (from Muhammad al-Tahir ibn Ashur): The criterion for distinguishing between a blessing that arises from Allah’s pleasure with His servant and a blessing that is actually a gradual enticement (istidrāj) for the one who disbelieves is to observe the state of the person enjoying that blessing—whether they are in a state of guidance or misguidance
What Truly Remains
{“And Allah increases those who are guided in guidance. And the enduring righteous deeds are better with your Lord in reward and better in return.”} — Qur'an Surah Maryam 19:76 Only the remembrance of God and obedience to Him truly remain. As for the worldly life, it is destined to become barren, and its enjoyments are bound to pass away. Nothing of it remains, neither dwelling nor gathering place, neither authority nor armies.
