I’ve worked with both new and old timers who don’t wear glasses, masks, or ear protection, and while in the short time “it’s just a few rips/cuts, I don’t need them” sounds reasonable, that thinking adds up over an 8-hour day, let alone a 20-year career. Hearing loss doesn’t happen in one cut. Lung damage doesn’t come from one board. Eye injuries don’t care how experienced you are.
