Aligned Messaging (Homework 1)
Hi, I’m Manisha Hariharan from India. I’d like to establish myself as a copywriter for purpose-driven brands and build a change agency alongside, that supports these brands to drive positive social impact. My mission is to help purpose-driven businesses thrive and fuel the growing movements of conscious entrepreneurship and consumers, with a focus on bringing animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and social justice into the mainstream. Although, I am starting out in marketing, I am flexible in refining my agency services as I go along. Examples of clear messaging in this niche: Fenton – Purpose is our sole purpose. (They use human-centric story-telling to rally people around social causes) Fifty & Fifty – a digital agency for purpose-driven brands. (They tell the stories of those who are changing lives through digital marketing) GOOD is a purpose-driven creative agency. They work with brands and not-for-profits to create a shared vision of a better, more sustainable world. One that’s fairer, greener and more prosperous. Purpose - We build and support movements to advance the fight for an open, just, and habitable world. Position Digital - Purpose-Driven Digital Marketing Agency for Ethical Brands I believe purpose-driven companies must prioritize profitability to sustain their mission because profit enables sustainable change. Profit is a part of the purpose and the two are not mutually exclusive. Note: I am not touting purpose-driven marketing as a strategy for profit but marketing as a tool for social change. Also seeking deeper commitment and engagement to these causes from businesses and consumers beyond cause washing and ethical purchasing. I won’t expand on this right now because that would mean looking too far ahead in terms of our own offerings. My unique messaging: WIP. (Narrowing down this target audience further and MVP to keep things manageable). Will use the same thread until I nail this and mature into the next homework.

Niche – Established solo-owned sustainable and ethical brands who sell premium products/services and are looking to amplify their brand’s missions and attract the right clients. Categories most likely to use FB and integrated platforms like Instagram and WA (can include if need be as it goes hand in hand): Sustainable fashion and ethical jewellery brands, organic beauty and skincare, vegan/plant-based businesses, ethical lifestyle brands. Offer: Same as before FB (with Insta + WA if need be). Help statement: Simplified organic marketing for solo-owned sustainable, ethical, and eco-conscious brands that want to grow their audience, boost engagement and attract the right clients without the overwhelm of being on too many platforms.

Here’s where I’m hitting a block. The current offer is ideal for individuals building a business around their personal brands. To that end, I’d narrow down my focus to coaches and consultants who lean toward animal welfare, social justice, and environmental practices. On the other hand, if I work with brands, I’d need to create a whole new offer. Starting with white label partners is fairly easy in India as there’s no upfront fees or minimum order values. Repackaging their standardized services allows for easier implementation. Customizing their services to suit our offer can lead to difficulties. They have rigid packages that cannot be altered. If this rides on me, Facebook and LinkedIn are as far as I am willing to go. I don’t have the bandwidth for anything more. I am digging a bit more to see how we can do both – cater to coaches and consultants while offering agency services to brands using white label partners.
Query!
Jason, just wanted to confirm that the "homework" for each lesson was not restricted to the duration of the challenges? Just so am not overstepping any boundaries here and making a nuisance of myself. I'll be going through the motions now.

Cool. I want to position my marketing agency as the go-to solution for client acquisition and retention while aligning with animal welfare, environment, and social justice. Blend commercials with social responsibility to help brands that prioritize these causes not just sell but also drive meaningful change. Most corporates do prioritize environmental causes in their CSR commitments. Animal welfare to a lesser degree. So, almost anybody is our potential client. I’m ahead in social causes but still learning the ropes of business and marketing, which is what makes it difficult to understand where to start. I’d like to start small but not so small that we restrict ourselves to a community (vegans, activists, etc etc). And here’s where I need some clarity and direction. I'm open to leveling up or leveraging expertise, whichever makes more sense. Right now, my creative agency (which was accidental) has a mixed bag of clients and I’d like to niche down to brand activism on that front. I’ll begin distilling my ideas with the resources I have, and if it feels too scattered, then I'll opt for a more structured support.

Hi Leanne, appreciate your input. Yes, that is part of the plan. But initially the focus would be on Indian charities in these spaces and specific ones (verified) within the region where we are located. I run a dog sanctuary myself and am also a consultant with one of the largest grassroots animal welfare and environmental NGO in India. I am not sure how clients would feel about donating to my NGO but I'd like to explore that option to raise the funds to expand our work. In doing so, also support similar charities, I plan to allocate a part of my agency’s profits to my NGO and others we wish to support, while investing in other ventures for additional revenue streams. This ensures we lead with credibility and commitment by allocating 100 percent of our agency's profits to serve these causes. That's the skeletal idea. I need to now work out the details.

I'd like a little clarity on GDPR compliance. And how do I engage in activities such as incentivizing the acquisition of email addresses?

Offer Statement: Turn your FB profile into a predictable revenue channel in 12 weeks using SOC (strategic organic content) framework. TA: Entrepreneurs - keeping it broad b/c it's too premature to decide who I want to work with. Also, feel boxed in working only with coaches. I really would like some creatives and freelancers in the mix. I strongly believe this offer is a must-have for entrepreneurs because it provides a clear and straightforward pathway to turn their Facebook profiles into predictable revenue channels. By leveraging strategic organic content, entrepreneurs can establish a strong online presence, attract their ideal audience, and ultimately generate consistent income streams. This not only enhances their visibility and credibility but also opens up new opportunities for client acquisition and business growth. The structured 12-week timeline ensures that they receive actionable guidance and support to maximize their success on social media, making it an essential investment for those seeking to optimize their online marketing efforts for consistent clients. Status: Currently working with an IT professional who is into stock market as a side hustle. i case study available - business coach. Good fit clients: Beginner entrepreneurs who want to get off to get a good start and those in the 5k range looking for an additional revenue channel.
