Food shopping and cooking have never been my thing. Actually… hate might be the better word 😅 Not sure if it’s a can’t-cook situation or a won’t-cook situation. Probably both. One thing that always gets a proper eye roll from me on social media is watching people batch cook and meal prep for hours on end. Perfect little containers. Six burners on the go. A whole Sunday afternoon dedicated to chopping. Looks lovely. Also completely unrealistic. With two kids under five, a “successful” dinner usually means something that can be made in 15–20 minutes without anyone losing it (mainly me). So over time, things had to get practical. Just simple, healthy meals that: – don’t take ages – don’t involve loads of ingredients – and that both adults and kids will actually enjoy. That meant getting quite ruthless about food. No complicated recipes, elaborate meal prep or pretending there’s time for things that don’t work for me. And that’s why my meal plans look the way they do. They aren’t designed to be Instagram-worthy. They’re designed by someone who doesn’t want to cook, doesn’t want to think too hard about food, and still wants something that people want to eat. It turns out a lot of my clients love that. Not because it’s exciting but because it’s doable. It works on busy days and doesn’t need a lot of motivation, organisation, or a free Sunday afternoon. Sometimes the best recipes come from a mix of laziness and real life constraints... Anyone else allergic to cooking… or is it just me? 😅 🤍
