Greatly appreciate you @Duy Bui! #LoveIt
Day 72
Goal: - Determine workaround solution to show automation workflow using "mock docs". More details on this was shared in yesterday's "End of Day" comment/summary. The point of this is to have a video "show how it works" to help lead to future demos/calls. - Update messaging & list of 30 people for outreach. The original list I used was positioning general "document processing" automations. Now that I'm a little more niche and specific on what I'm offering and the outcomes I'm positioning, I want to ensure I'm targeting the right people/businesses that are actually experiencing the pain I can resolve. Blocker: Nothing at the moment. Need: Nothing at the moment.

Day 72 Complete Did: After testing a few times, just going to create a set of "mock docs" through an e-signature platform (vs continuing to look for ways to process "markup text" on PDFs). Learned: Focus on the shortest path to the solution. Optimize later (or if requested....after being paid 😏). Tomorrow: Update messaging & list of 30 people for outreach.
Day 71
Goal: Rule of 100: Content. Blocker: Nothing at the moment. Need: Nothing at the moment.

Day 71 Complete Did: Actually didn't complete the goal but learned something interesting while filming the content (shared below). Learned: That text added to a PDF file via "markup" (using Mac) isn't easily recognized by Google's OCR (but it works well with docs that are generated from e-signature platforms). Researching why this occurs is that the "markup" text may be seen as an "image overlay" vs being true "embedded text". I'm sure testing this with PDF Vector wouldn't be an issue but need to use a self-hosted solution and start using N8N (currently using Make.com). Right now the information being processed needs to stay within the environment where it's received/generated (Google ecosystem) so I'll have to come back to experiment with PDF Vector at a future date. Tomorrow: Determine workaround solution to show the automation using my "mock doc" (so I'm not showing/revealing any personally identifying information).

Yeah, I was experiencing this issue using Google Drive’s OCR (via AppsScript) @Duy Bui — but I greatly appreciate you confirming what I learned 😊.
Day 70
Goal: Complete template 4 of 4 for initial automation workflow library. Blocker: Nothing at the moment. Need: Nothing at the moment.

Being several workflows in, I'm starting to realize this is "the norm" @Duy Bui (and I'm not happy about it) - Lol. Appreciate you confirming that I'm not going crazy (or unable to handle automations the more I learn) 😏.

I think you're spot on @Matthias Schweiker! It's a good client-ready foundation based on situations I've seen and revelations I'm having when prospecting, reaching out to people and thinking about what to present when outlining/creating content.
Man, this realization hit different
Just landed a new client to help activate a workflow on n8n. But instead of being a simple job of activating a template he found on n8n… It turned out to be, “hey can we change this and add this?” So in the end, we went from “just activate this workflow” to “I need to build out extra workflows and create new logic for things to work.” Here’s the thing: I know the deal is dead. Because if I don’t 100% satisfy him, I’ll get a 1–4 star rating, and anything besides 5 stars is bad on Upwork. I don’t want to risk my score, so instead of continuing, I dropped the project and handed over the work I already did so he can keep at it. But the lesson I’ve learned is this: it’s so important to have repeat customers and 5-star ratings. If it’s not possible, it’s best to drop out right away. Because one-off customers or constantly getting new customers is not a great place to be. The goal should be to have people return. Which is why when one of my earlier clients came back and said, “hey I have another project,” I knew I did a good job. Because I didn’t need to sell him on working with me, he simply asked for help. So for me, the goal is: how many people can return for a second round or even more after the first project? Because at that point, it’s easy money.

Good on you @Chris Jadama! At the end of the day, you realized the pattern and paid enough attention to it to make a change. You recognized "the game" and decided on how "not to play" (when there are plenty of people still "playing it" and those who are not generating the additional inflow by avoiding it). That's the win! We live and we learn. We all decide what's worth it to us and what's not. You got an extra 5-star review that will validate you for the next "right" client which will build you/your profile up for the long term. In business, you won't always attract the perfect client but knowing how to adapt and adjust to what comes your way is the winning solution (to determine how to get the "best" clients for you and your company). Good on you (again), my man! #KeepGoing
