When she was young, before she made clothes, she was a singer. She sang in small cafes for groups of people. She often sang two popular songs: One song was about a lost dog named Coco. Qui qu'a vu Coco near the Trocadéro ? (Who saw Coco?) The other song was called "Ko Ko Ri Ko." The people who came to watch her loved these songs. Because she sang about Coco so much, people started calling her "Coco." She liked the name, and it stayed with her for the rest of her life. She used it for her famous fashion company. When she was on stage singing, she was always in her element.
