December Theme; Worldbuilding
December is going to be all about how to design with story in mind. Which segues perfectly into the cohort I am launching in January that will help comic artists publish their first comic in 90 days! What’s your favorite part of worldbuilding?

I love discovering the relationship between characters. (I say discovery because it never feel like you’re writing it.) How do they know each other? How do they feel about each other? What history is there.. etc

The drawing stuff is cool too… haha
No Excuse November Challenge #20; Shirts
No Excuse November is almost over! I thought it would be fun to dedicate some time to looking at the clothing since we have spent so much time on the figure, let’s look at what covers it up! Check out the Fabric Art Hacks that I mentioned in this video here. And as always you can find all previous challenge practice sheets here. Practice, practice, practice!!

No Excuse November Challenge #19; Curly and Wavy Hair
No Excuse November continues on with sort of a spin off of a previous video. It was pointed out to me that I didn’t include any curly hair in my hair video, so I wanted to dedicate a whole video to practicing it, since it is honestly, a ton of fun to practice. All previous challenge practice sheets can be found here, and keep practicing! We are almost done with November!

This was nice. I’m still trying to figure out if I have a style? I felt like I was definitely leaning into a more cartoony vibe. This time around.
Helpful Criticism and Critique Wanted.
I need suggestions on how/why the sketch shifted more to the feminine, and what are the main characteristics that tend to shift an image more one way than the other?

This is awesome. I’m truly jealous of your shadowing, It excellent. And I am not an expert on portraits but, I have gotten much better this year. My “trick” is to use a ‘proportional divider’. It’s a tool you can pick up on Amazon for five bucks. I then put the photo on my iPad, scale it to the exact size I’m drawing, and measure like a weirdo. I have found, if the proportions (between the eyes, nose, mouth, chin, forehead, ears, etc,) are correct, it almost doesn’t matter if I get those specific elements correct. It always ends up looking like the person I’m drawing…
No Excuse November Challenge #18; Facial Hair
Time for another No Excuse November video, this time focusing in on facial hair! Seems pretty appropriate since I just went over normal hair... practice practice practice! And catch-up on any missed practice sheets here in the classroom
