Tarot and the Uncanny
I just met with a friend today who had been previously stressing out about her big clients being slow to pay their invoices, putting her whole business at risk. Today, she woke up to find that multiple clients had paid their balances in full all at once, saving her business. She decided to pull a card to help interpret the moment, and she drew the Ace of Pentacles! (from the Circle of Doors Tarot, where we call it the Ace of Shells). She also remarked that it was a card that she had never pulled in any reading before after 2+ years of owning the deck. This is what I love so much about Tarot, how it can show up in such powerfully and unambiguously synchronistic ways. Honestly, sometimes cards just “don’t land”…but sometimes (shockingly often) they land in a way that is so potent that it makes you question the very nature of reality. Would love to hear other peoples’ stories on Tarot creating memorable uncanny/synchronistic moments like this 😊

Recently I was giving complimentary one card readings at a local cafe. A young woman sat down and I pulled the 9 of Swords for her. I was surprised because she was jut so joyful and I really couldn’t understand why this card would arrive for her. As I explained the general meaning of the card was being anxious and having sleepless nights, she burst out laughing and explained she was 8 months pregnant (I had not noticed as my attention was diverted when she sat down) and she was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first child. We also laughed when I commented that there will be many sleepless nights in her near future!
Welcome 🌞 Introduce yourself!
You are invited to take a moment to introduce yourself so we can all get to know each other better. Please make a new post in the "Introductions" category. Here are some ideas: - Whereabouts are you from? - How did you first get into Tarot? - Draw a card to represent what it means that you've committed to deepening your Tarot journey. Take a photo, either of just the card or of yourself holding it up :)

Hi. I’m Lorelei. I live in South Surrey, British Columbia in Canada. Years ago I worked in a bookstore and I purchased a RWS deck and a book that was to explain tarot. Both sat on my shelf for many years until COVID and I enrolled in a couple of online tarot classes. Been fascinated ever since. I am looking forward to learning more and hopefully practicing a lot more. The card I drew is The Tower. Thank you Brian. I appreciate all the work getting your skool up and running.

Welcome to The Arcana Conservatory
Thank you for taking the time to get set up on skool. I know it can be a pain to juggle all these different platforms, but I chose skool specifically because they make everything very clean, simple, and easy. This is the "soft launch" phase of this community. If you are reading this, you are someone I know personally, or someone who signed up for my email newsletter at some point. You will all have free lifetime access to the standard tier of membership. New members who join after you will be paying a small fee for the standard tier. There will also be premium tiers added in the future. For now, the group will remain private while I get things ready for a public launch. The goal is to jump in and try things out. I have a lot of ideas for different classes and resources to share through this community, but I wanted to start with simply hosting some casual coffee hours and the first Card Challenges. Much more to come!
