Helping Teachers Read the Room at Naples Preschool of the Arts ❤️
Katherine and I had the privilege of presenting to Naples Preschool of the Arts, and it was truly a joy to spend time with such an engaged, thoughtful team of educators. Thank you for the opportunity, @Jennifer Cashman Our training focused on sensory regulation and emotional regulation, with a strong emphasis on helping teachers: - read the room before reacting - understand how their own sensory system affects the classroom - make small, in-the-moment adjustments that support regulation and engagement The feedback from the team was incredibly positive (5/5), with many teachers sharing how helpful it was to have language and tools that felt realistic and usable in a busy classroom. If you’re curious about how this kind of support can extend beyond a single training, check out the introduction to The Ultimate Preschool Playbook (UPP) (under the classroom tab) to see how it can support your preschool as well. 💬 Directors — what are you noticing most in your classrooms right now when it comes to regulation and engagement?

Good time of year to receive this information. As children return from the (often stressful) holidays, having a regulated and predictable classroom to rely on makes such a difference to their little systems. It definitely helps keep learning fun for children and caregivers.
Happy Holidays
As we wrap up our last two days before a two week winter break, I am thinking of my fellow directors and teachers. Thank you for the hard work you do every day, the preparations you do to make life wonderful for the tiny humans in your charge, the support you provide to families and the encouragement you offer to each other. Wishing you happy holidays. In the words of Tiny Tim (from A Christmas Carol), “God bless us, every one!”
Caring for Teachers
I was wondering what y’all are doing for your teachers this holiday season…..specifically to show appreciation for their dedication and hard work.
Executive functioning heading into the holidays
If you're feeling the holiday whirlwind, I'm sure your teachers and kids are right there in it with you too. Focusing on executive functioning this week turned out to be pretty perfect timing—everyone’s brains are doing their best to shift, start, stop, and keep going. Remember to “just keep swimming,” and give yourself permission to pause when you need it. Wishing you and your school family a very happy Thanksgiving. 🧡

I’m thankful for the community we are building on the Preschool Director Network. Thank you for building this platform for us to connect and support each other.
What are YOU putting off?
We ask kids to “just start”… but we all have those moments too. What's one thing you keep putting off? Let's normalize grown-up Executive Functioning struggles. I promise this is a judgement-free zone.

@Katherine Walters A little of it takes so much time and a little that I don’t want their feelings to be hurt. I have talked to the few that need to improve in certain areas but writing it in an eval (after seeing little to no improvement) is harder.
