Who made this.
I buy with my emotions, if I like it i buy it. But I am curious about this piece. None of the stones are Prong set, the back construction looks, poured. ( not metal) What shocks me is the stones are all glass, not acrylic. Even more surprising all there. Can someone educate me on this piece? I think I have had it over 30 years. I have been digging stuff out as well as still buying.

GLOWIES
GLOWIES!! Seriously, I frequently ask for a black light inspection, not looking for the glass to glow, but the acrylic to show, glue, and repairs as well as substandard not metal settings. When a seller show off a glow as in this picture I will usually ask. Is this glass? Ninty nine times out of 100. I am told, yes and it glows! My husband received today. Acrylic i seriously feel many people really dont know.

Finally a bigger Score today!!!
I still have half a box to go through but definitely scored on this one today. Also made an amazing connection with an estate sales couple that will now call me when they get items I can purchase in bulk. Some of the items found so far Hobe, ART, Weiss, Sarah Cov, and a Golldette squash blossom..also tons of old compacts $300 for all ๐Ÿฉท

Jewelry Rant
Well, half rant, half advice. Plain and simply put, I'm tired of watching new people or less knowledgeable jewelry people eat shit sandwiches from experienced individuals in this industry. It's just jewelry. It's not a secret recipe. It's not saving anyone's life, and it certainly doesn't make you better than the next guy/gal. Just be kind. Yes, you studied for 30 years, congratulations. I hope I'm not like you when I reach the same point. If jewelry makes you feel poorly toward other people or makes you want to be negative, then maybe you should consider a different hobby until you're ready to act like a respectable/respectful person. XO, Brad

I am the collector for now. Brad knows we spend way to much on what not. Not on an item just in general. I am overwhelmed on all that I have now. (That remodle on my from 1905 bathroom could have been done twice.) Mostly my husband fault. He saw the difference in value on vintage jewelry compared to fine jewelry. I should have never boosted about my shinny things. Now my point is I am asked by some sellers if I believe it is Juliana, hell I dont know most of the time. I just try to buy what calls to me. Just because a spend the too much on WN certainly doesn't make me an expert. Far from it. Makes me feel sort of stupid when they ask. I am wrong 75% of the time. As juliana site in my nice way when some get nasty I tell the one who posted it. How beautiful it is, must be much be better than a Juliana.

@Wendy Bouchard ebay had the ability to add pictures when I had sold my treasures, but wasn't publicly traded. That is when "you got mail" became a dreaded announcement. I would study using books and books, my brain would hurt. I just would describe the best I could and title it as direct as I could. Started low, I just hoped the market would determine it's worth. It was a sellers market. I made good money. Sad part is when I bought antiques at local auctions, I bought things I loved. I trusted my taste. Now have spent the last 25 years trying to find simular and buy them back at a price I can afford. And I still hate email.
Juliana D&E Identification Is Tough!
Looking at the brooch below, I would have never assigned it as a D&E offering due to the 342(+/-) prongs, especially around the center stone. Seems like there's always an exception or two, so identifying Juliana often comes down to experience and familiarity with specific designs. The second photo shows another exception to a common D&E attribution that it must have a 5-panel or 5 link design. It looks more like Hobe than D&E. I thought this would be constructive for this group. Books work! ๐Ÿ˜…

My mother and grandmother loved high end cut glass. The love for the bling came from that. I pretend those pieces of glass in jewelry were diamonds
