Well, half rant, half advice. Plain and simply put, I'm tired of watching new people or less knowledgeable jewelry people eat shit sandwiches from experienced individuals in this industry. It's just jewelry. It's not a secret recipe. It's not saving anyone's life, and it certainly doesn't make you better than the next guy/gal. Just be kind. Yes, you studied for 30 years, congratulations. I hope I'm not like you when I reach the same point. If jewelry makes you feel poorly toward other people or makes you want to be negative, then maybe you should consider a different hobby until you're ready to act like a respectable/respectful person. I was thinking about terms folks use incorrectly. Two come to mind as I have a baby sleeping on my chest. 1. Peking Glass. 2. Micro mosaic Peking glass is layered often showing a white layer in the “carving.” What most call Peking Glass should be called “mottled glass .“ Micro mosaic pieces are very hard to see the tiles and are rare. They’re often museum quality whereas mosaic jewelry you clearly see the tiles—sometimes with empty space between tiles. I’ll try to find pictures.
