Waterstones- The Monsters’ Brawl - First Run - Sold Out!
Just had some amazing news. The first batch of copies of my children’s book ‘The Monsters’ Brawl have sold out!! More being stocked as we speak. It’s pretty overwhelming to be fair. Massive thanks to @Florence Hannath and the team for loving the book and getting it out there. Dream come true. ❤️

It is slow but everyone who sees it loves it. I have a publishing company now who Andy introduced me too and they will release that in UK hopefully next year. I also have moved to a more populated area in Australia so am hoping to get some more on shelves. The kids who get it read to them love it. It's all so funny! 🤣
TimeLapse Tilda
Hi everyone! I wanted to show you this short timelapse of an illustration from Tilda's third book written by @Nicola Lewis that I worked on. I'd love to make more of these in the future! I hope you like that 😊

WATERSTONES MOMENT!! Chookity Chook series
✨ I am so excited!! Today I want to pause and feel excited that Chookity Chook, and the next one in the series, Chookity Chook and the Barnyard Parade, have been released in Waterstones — a dream come true. My late son would be so proud to see these stories in print. 🐓💜 I also want to honour the incredible Yogesh, who brought my characters to life with such care and creativity. Chookity was always going to be emotional to create, but Yogesh captured him perfectly — a true gift I will always treasure. 🙏

🎨 Cover Love – What Makes You Pick Up a Book?
Covers are such a big part of children’s books — sometimes they’re the very thing that makes a child (or a parent!) pull a book off the shelf. But what really catches the eye? Is it bold colours, playful characters, elegant typography… or something else entirely? Personally, I’m always drawn to typographic covers — a beautiful font or even a clever bit of photo manipulation mixed with the text instantly grabs my attention. So tell me: what’s the first thing you notice on a cover that makes you want to open the book? 💜📚

For me it’s the character illustration — it needs to tell the story at a glance. I’ve mentioned before how beautifully Yogesh captured Chookity Chook, but another standout is Andri Anto with Captain Stinky Bot the Fartiest Pirate that Ever Lived!. His attention to detail and humour, was intricate and incredible — the cover pulled together eight pirates, a dog, a parrot, a boat, and even pirate “gas,” instantly sparking fun and curiosity. It told the story and caught interest immediately. Then there is Reka Kadar, who illustrated 12 Unicorns in My Bedroom. What an amazing talent Reka is — she captured the magic, sparkle, and wonder before you even turned a page.
